Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Confession: my grumpiness today wanes as the lunar calendar has put my day boss off work today and tonight as well as my night boss/swmbo working both nights. Im unsupervised for 48 hours! Play with speakers. Beer. Loud music. Possibilities are endless!

Woooo hoooo!!!!! I am SO there when my wife is gone somewhere. Problem is, it's not often enough! Last week I had a day off and she took the dog I mean our master to the park. That hour was glorious. I pulled out my bass and new amp and cranked that sucker! Fun! Hmmm I need to find a reason to send her to Salem alone to see the kids.. LOL

I've gotten by with cheap drugstore readers for the last 15 years or so.

Vision changes caused me to get an eye exam. I've had a lazy eye all my life, and was used to not having full depth perception. My new prescription gives me 20/20 both sides, and the improvement makes me feel liking I'm walking around in a 3D movie.

Everything looks so good, that I'm grinning like an idiot everywhere I go!

GOF content: I now have separate eyewear for computer work and distance vision. As wonderful as it is to see so clearly, I keep tackling tasks while wearing the wrong pair. Bah. Humbug.

Uhhhh yes sir, you are correctly seeing in 3D. As far as two pair of glasses, you should be able to use bifocals? Otherwise, grump on! :D

"Honey, the kids called. They want you there alone right away! Something about an intervention? Sounded urgent."

:D:laugh::D

Remember the big "W" on it's a mad, mad, mad, mad world? I keep seeing a folded "W" in my future somewhere... it's almost haunting me. "Build the speaker, they will drum, build the speaker, they will drum..." Must hurry, only 4 hours before I should sleep, meaning on 5 or 6 hours before I do sleep :D Beer has already entered the formula for my evening shenanigans. When the foxy chick's away, the GOF will play...

I promise, this might be only a little more dangerous than it looks. 1 x 15 sofa cab + 4 1 x 10 cardboard cabs or 1 4 x 10 card cab, depending on your point of view:

I should have been recording the sound of the tests so I can compare them. All the bedding and stuff on the sofa is supposed to protect the couch from the dogs, but I think it protects it from me!

Edit: shrunk that awfully big pic

Man am I behind here.
Okay, A local Mom and Pop bike shop [hey did I just rhyme?] hands out driver's handbooks with new or used bike sales. Like most state I know of if you are on wheels, you are a vehicle. GOOD people!

I have used progressive glasses for decades instead of bifocals, now if I really want to read I will have to wear BIG lenses requiring a counterbalance to keep my head from drooping forward [exaggeration, the very heart of grumpiness].

Anyone notice you need much more light to see? AND WHEN DID THEY MAKE FINE PRINT ON BOTTLES SO DANG SMALL? It was never that small before.

Not only are things darker, but I see hazes around car lights at night now. More floaters than I can ever remember!

I'm glad I have a place to come to be grumpy! Wife won't let me grump at home!

Oooooh I got the bad night vision. Cheated my eye test so I don't have to wear the goggles and they don't test night vision, but I won't drive without at night.

reminds me of something funny, in the 80's the Navy used to issue Clark Kent glasses. Most people bought their own. The Navy issue were called birth control glasses :D

apropos of nothing, I just read a sig worthy comment on another forum:
"Nothing spells freedom like being able to pee in your yard."
I do appreciate living in a rural area and would amend the comment to make it GOF relevant thusly:
"Nothing spells freedom like being able to pee in your yard as soon as you get out of your car after a long drive."

Pretty universal. If SHE complains and you offer any comment, out come the claws. If YOU complain, SHE tells you how it's YOUR own damned FAULT.

"Women, you can live with 'em, you can't bury 'em in the back yard" -- Al Bundy

I guess I have a bit of GOM left in me, despite my good fortune :D

I live in town, still pee in my back yard. Have to go behind the shed tho :D

Salt Peter is a myth. When someone got caught spanking the monkey in boot camp, they had to fall behind the company as it marched, wearing one boot and one tennis shoe, and skip instead of marching :D No joke. Saw one every week or so.

After boot camp, I never ate at the chow hall, ever.

I'm out of control. Playing Ottis Redding, got out a mic. If you heard me sing, you would tell me to put it away. Added 350 watt tweeters to the cardboard cab. Just played Albert King's The Sky is Crying, got 39% mastery first time through. Rocksmith is so cool, because I can learn and play beside my rock and roll heros.
