April Fool's Day Hoaxes of All Time in which Porky's prank was #16:
1974: Residents of Sitka, Alaska were alarmed when the long-dormant volcano neighboring them, Mount Edgecumbe, suddenly began to belch out billows of black smoke. People spilled out of their homes onto the streets to gaze up at the volcano, terrified that it was active again and might soon erupt. Luckily it turned out that man, not nature, was responsible for the smoke. A local practical joker named Porky Bickar had flown hundreds of old tires into the volcano's crater and then lit them on fire, all in a (successful) attempt to fool the city dwellers into believing that the volcano was stirring to life. According to local legend, when Mount St. Helens erupted six years later, a Sitka resident wrote to Bickar to tell him, "This time you've gone too far!"

It is, I think I have one I can make to work if I extend the shaft. Repaired this motor 3 times! Last time the armature looked bad from scraping the magneto, and I converted it to ball bearings. If the other motor can't be made to fix, I think it's best to go for a new furnace A/C and save on efficiency. Had to take wife out shopping after they kept her at work for 18 hours, so resting a while before I pull the motor out. That in itself is a project. Grumpiness has returned

Yeah, wife and dog ran me all over today too.... but about the heat... remember, if she ain't happy, we ALL ain't happy! 
Happy wife happy life. I took another legal perscription last nigh that sent me into a 12 hr coma. Now its time to pay the piper. Damned piper. 55 degrees F inside.
Slight offset to grumpy factor, I just rembered after taking the magic pill, before it knocked me all the way out, I ordered a pedal.
GOF Factor on full blast. Other motors looked pretty PITA to make fit. Original had my ball bearing I added last time walk forward. Amazingly the epoxy housing for it held up for several years and still good. I hurt all over. I'd like to shoot it, but it's working now. Had to break the bearing out race to get it out without destroying the cast end cover. Moved the shaft back 1/2" to get the bearing on smoother shaft. I'm not working on that SOB again
I just want to crawl into bed, but I had better get the blower assembly back in and wired up
Edit: It is done, sounds like new. Took out the trash and refuse to even pick up my tools. Took meds I normally take only when I can sleep as long as I want and I don't care when I roll into work tomorrow. I bent the needle on the grumpy meter.
Edit edit: Scrolling up to Male Optical Illusion made me feel a bit better. I'll bet when she farts it smells like lilacs.

The good news: We went to the beach for the day on Sunday. Had three gorgeous women in bikinis ( one was my wife) paddling me around in our inflatable boat.
The bad news: I was in such pain/discomfort from my shoulder and knee they could have been nekkid and I would hardly have noticed.
Might be time to get repaired...

I got back from my holiday trip and we had band practice yesterday. the good news was I could play, but some pinky stretches on rock and roll lines were a challenge, so I asked to not repeat even though the songs weren't coming together very well. My left hand seems to be healing, that is, but I still take some Advil each morning. At least there was no infection from the dog bite.
Unrelated, I took a combination rifle to the police station for inspection (a required procedure here) so I will get the license for it in the mail in a couple of weeks. Some fox stalking ahead, but I am afraid I am in too grumpy a mood for "pure" hunting, as in, letting the animal get the worse end of both barrels. The season ends on the 15th.

Ok this was an amp thread right, right. I want another amp. I need another amp like another hole in my head. I keep looking longingly at the B/amp, Mesa D800 and minimega and of course the ever elusive Reiner Studio 1200.
I have only had a few gigs since Xmas. Rediculous I know. Besides I have 3 great Dclass amps a Glock lead sled, and 3 tube amps, off the top of my head, there's more but they're buried in storage.
Ok just writing this down has made me grumpy and my shoulder hurts. I'm taking some bs pain meds that don't do anything. I'm just taking them to verify that they are worthless. So I can tell the doc. They are worthless.
The more you suffer, the more it shows you really care, yea, right?

Hey Sitka, I was working up in Port Alberni and Prince Rupert when the volcano "erupted--" people were scrambling for weeks trying to get out of its way. Absolutely epic prank. Good to see people haven't forgotten it.
To me, if you have the coin, want and need are about the same. So I say you NEED that amp
Sell two-three, buy one. Depending how many are buried in the garage, mebbe sell 5-6. Clearing the decks of tonnage you are storing is a good thing, when it's really not serving a useful purpose, but just cluttering up the place.
