I can sympathize with your wife. My cataracts were making me legally blind. A wonderful but now retired doctor did the surgery on one eye followed a couple of months later by the other. I have a reading eye and a distance eye. I do have reading glasses but they are only needed for close work.
After the surgery i was left with a few “floaters” that he zapped with a laser.
The biggest kick for me was to see, for the first time, all the wonderful colours in our Shepherd/Husky cross’s fur. I couldn’t stop looking at her. I especially liked our 8 o’clock cuddles when she would climb onto my lap and snuggle. I miss her so much!!
