Where do you put it when you need to switch to fretting?

Does it roll when you drop it?

I’ve always wanted to try one of these pedal steel types if it fits between two fingers. I have Dunlop glass and brass tube ones.

I don't use it with fretted basses, but it just goes in my back pocket when playing in what passes for normal fashion.

Yep, it bounces and rolls, and sometimes wakes other geezers up. It'll put nasty dings in an instrument too, my old Travis Bean looked like a Willy Nelson guitar eventually.

For the way I use finger damping when in "slide mode" none of those other options seem too attractive. In particular, glass hasn't worked well at all for me, way too light. Great for guitar though, of course.

Saw early today about George. Always liked George the best, personally, and even more so with time.

By "easy marks" I mean people with agendas (making loads of money) prey on others who believe there is something wrong with them (like reading slowly). And there is absolutely nothing wrong with reading slowly. Sometimes it's quite necessary to read slowly so as to actually understand beautifully articulated thought.

We read Homer in school by the time we were in our early teens. One teacher tells me of how the school librarian noticed a particuar book was being checked out much more frequently than might be considered normal. Careful inspection revealed students used that book as a Dead drop - Wikipedia for some Willie Nelson.

Skimmed an article in the funny papges about a music teacher who retired at 80 something from his post as the conductor of the city band. It's an adults' band that does the usual free concerts, holiday, and old folks' home circuit. Ferreted out an email address for him and dropped him a private thank you for his work. He replies his retirement is mostly complete. He'll still be guest conductor, sometimes, a detail the newspaper failed to report. He also shared he chose to retire because of an onset of Parkinson's, and he wishes to be out before it becomes a liability.

That's Tuesday so far.

I actually did check the freezer! Just the other day I was recounting the story of my 30th birthday party to my sister in-law. I found a couch pillow in the freezer compartment of our fridge the next day. One of my brothers confessed to the deed later...

I’m not sure if I know any of Homer’s songs. When music notation is put in front of me, I am a slow reader. I put it to memory first in order to gain a full appreciation. I then translate what is in memory into articulated sound.

I started playing bass slide after I sliced my finger open on a broken glass. They put a metal splint on my hand while it was healing so I wouldn’t bend it. I taped a bar to my middle fingers and was off to the races.

Aint no biggy, doc. Personally, I think they should publish an annual list of who hasnt died yet. How else can we know? I was startled when Kirk Douglas died...thought he'd been gone for decades.
