Oh...and where exactly are you from?...guns guns and more guns?

I’ve never seen the show so don’t know what they find.

My dream locker would be to find an instrument time capsule. I did come across one once. An old music store was being closed and the inventory was being offered at low prices. An auction followed with what remained. The store owner was a hoarder. There were rooms full of Hammond organs ($100) and Leslie cabinets ($75 each). Recording equipment. Vox, Squire (made in the USA) guitars and basses, others from the 60’s NOS all under $100. Pedals, cases, parts. The auction prices were higher.

It was a once in a lifetime find. I got some good deals pre auction but sometimes think back with regret at what I left behind.

Word is many private libraries in Western Europe were fronts for refugee groups. Spy stuff :(
I knew a guy who worked for Kodak decoding spy stuff.

An old friend of mine, that I first met in 1973 was a MI dealer, primarily of used gear. When I met Barry, he was working out of his parents garage, but eventually had a couple of different storefronts over the decades. He had a veritable treasure trove of vintage, and otherwise, MI gear of every kind, even some stereo equipment. But, all the really good stuff that one would want to buy usually had a sign on it:

NOT FOR SALE

When he died in the mid '00s, everything was in a warehouse somewhere, and I have no idea what became of it all. He had a decent size room (probably around 15" x 15") in the back of his last store with every wall covered up to the ceiling in Kustom T&R amps and cabs. In other parts of the store, I remember he had some McIntosh stereo gear, an Earthwood ABG (which I'd played every so often, over the years), a Gibson Style U, along with lots of other gear, vintage and more "recent acquisitions". I bought my first new Rickenbacker from Barry, a MG 4001, in the mid '70s, and a 1966 Fender BandMaster head in the late '90s. His late brother, Cory, ran the store for awhile, while Barry was living in the bar around the corner from the shop; I bought my first Alembic from Cory in the early '90s.

The only thing I ever sold to Barry was my Western Electric 639B, something I regret to this day (the only MI related gear I really feel that way about); I tried to buy it back from him a few years later but he had no recollection of it (one of his alcholism related problems, unfortunately).
