So did I, hard to believe that it’s been 50 years. To mark the event, they will be releasing an anniversary vinyl, half speed master in April.

Mr. Beans, it seems like most times before 1990 were happy times. Then they got weird. They still are. We watch Andy Griffith and Twilight Zone and cooking shows LOL.

I am sorry but I have to comment. Some of us didn't have much of a choice. Draft? Enlist? Rock? Hard Place?
But I was still drooling, dreaming, and wanting over a 1969 Gibson EB3 for those 50 years.

My last duty station(67-68)was Charleston Naval Shipyard(6 ND). The band had a Navy issue EB-3, probably a 66(?). First real bass I ever played. Bought one immediately after separation. Wish I still had it. Sold it 'cos it wasn't being played(I was using my THUNDERBIRD for everything). 6 weeks later, I needed a short scale.
Like that band in the "What's wrong with this picture" thread. Where's the drummer?
Finally got my '69 EB3 last X-Mas. Now that is a true 50 year wait. Gotta really want sumpin pretty bad to endure that.
