I wasn't bored, but curious. And now I'm quite impressed! mike, your shelter is amazing! What a wonderful thing you're doing for these magnificent creatures. Just one question: which birds play the Martin?
.

Mostly the macaws. They really like that Caribbean Soul (god! I'm tired of Margaritaville). The cockatoos want Strats and ESPs and such...major headbangers...I was going to get them one of those $17.99 ones on eBay, but.... Most of the amazons are opera fans, which I can't stand. They all want to be tenors...not a damned baritone in the bunch.

...oh, and the eclectus is a crew guy...supplies partial capoing when needed.

:roflmao: That's great, mike! Especially your fine feathered roadie!

My Saturday grocery is a family business. Today they are limiting how many people are in the store, you line up outside with six feet between people. No waiting for a cash, plexiglass shields in front of each cash. Before entering the store, you hand sanitize then the guard gives you gloves.

There’s now a limit of 6 people per elevator.

A lot of corner stores seem to be hard hit. The govt. has apparently shut down paper sales of lottery tickets, it’s online only, so that part of the business is gone.

A drug store was selling masks, $5 each. I bought a couple, the limit, but don’t expect to be using them. They were well stocked when I went in, passed by the aisle later and all were gone.

Some stores are no longer accepting paper money.

Here's a Sunday morning feel-good picture for you old folks. This bird came in to the shelter two weeks ago...she's settling in nicely. In this pic, she's digging into a walnut from a 50 pound load donated by one of the online parrot support groups.

Any of you who're suffering from boredom are welcome to go do an online tour of our shelter at Building

Bless you Mike, a wonderful facility.

He's NOT a "roadie", dammit! He's a technician! (yes, I know the diff between a roadie and a groupie, no I'm not posting it here)

Oh, I see! My mistake, and my apologies. I've never been real clear on the difference between "crew" and "roadie". But, yes, I can see that he must have special technical skills, certainly not suitable to loading/unloading speakers, amps, scaffolding and platforms. :roflmao:

^^^We have played a couple of games of Battleship...we’re sure to get back to Backgammon...we played that for years, but we haven’t played it in several years.

Nancy grew up playing Cribbage. I’ve never gotten the hang of it, and she gets frustrated with me.

The stories of great players making crappy coaches...
Teddy Ballgame comes to mind...are common. ;)

Oy vey (Yiddish: אױ װײ‎) or oy vey iz mir is a Yiddish phrase expressing dismay or exasperation. Also spelled oy vay, oy veh, or oi vey, and often abbreviated to oy, the expression may be translated as, "oh, woe!" or "woe is me!" Its Hebrew equivalent is oy vavoy (אוי ואבוי, ój waävój).
Ah, so you are from the lost tribe! :D

Wife Carey and I submitted our DNA to one of the online ancestry websites and Carey's came back saying "white as Wonder Bread" and mine said anywhere from South America to Alaska Native! LOL. To add insult to injury, it also said my people (partial dna) were from Uzbekistan! I had visions of Jeff Dunham's dead terrorist saying "I KILL YOU!......."

May Aunt Francis said there might have been a splash of Jewish in my blood from a Jewish sailor from the UK that visited Alaska ohhhh some 100 or so years ago... but I dunno...

Just got back from a 'flying' road trip to KC to drop off my son's car. He's been in Argentina for a few months and took the U.S. embassy's advice to return to America early, so he will be back on U.S. soil this coming Tuesday. He will be driving to another location to self-isolate for two weeks before coming home. I care for my 87 year-old mother and he doesn't want to take a chance on infecting her. I've never made the trip faster. The speed limit for truckers must have been lifted - they were running 75-80 mph!

You hear about law enforcement solving cold cases through DNA database searches. It seems that despite what these places claim, they share your DNA data with law enforcement.

Don't believe what they tell you, your family might not actually have ties to Uzbekistan. It seems that you can't always believe what ancestory sites report. They wouldn't be making the reports up would they?
