A friend sent me some old photos this afternoon. These are from my L. A. Daze in the '80s. The sailing photo was probably of off MDR, the other two are at Vasquez Rocks.
Here's another one, less talking and more playing.
You might enjoy the first minute fourty two seconds of this lesson showing how Leslie could wring out notes.
Humping equipment and film to that location must not have been easy. Do purists carry their film in a cooler?

Serious photo gear
speaking of getting candids, it's not really so tough any more. Everyone's pointing their cell phone in some direction — sometimes all in the same direction (for a moment) like at a concert — so actually shooting unseen by the subject is a great deal easier. Nobody's looking up from their phones to notice

I enjoyed that. I'm reminded of a few things: 1. Ricks are all edges; 2. I can sing; 3. I can play. I cannot sing and play at the same time, unless I'm playing piano and just messing around.
Singing and playing in different rooms is even harder.
Amen to that. I've been mightily impressed with a lot of similar things I've seen over the past couple of months.
Purists, I'm not so sure about. Many photographers did, though.
I have a cooler that is perfect for holding 20 4x5 film holders, but it never made it into a freezer, nor had any ice in it. We did tend to carry more than most folk's share of camera gear around!
Vasquez Rocks is an extremely popular park, NE of Los Angeles, not too far from Antelope Valley. Where we happened to be for those photos was a fairly short walk from the parking lot, but we did go way beyond where most "hikers" go after that.
Note the two water bottles I have strapped to the Canon bag.
Here is one phograph from that day.
I do not have any others Pixelized®, at the moment.
Side note (key of A♭): My friend at the left side was a Viet Nam photographer. I spoke with him this evening; he'd recently finished pixelizing® all his negatives from there, and is donating all his negatives and prints to an area museum.

That bass player really nails the tone, what's that about a 73 4001? It's got the small headstock, looks like different tuners though. I'm not crazy about the percussion though. (Now you know why I belong here

Looks later than that, say, late '74, going into early '75, maybe. Yes, it still has the 1/2" neck pickup location, but those horns seemed to have already gained a lot of
