Which dive? I'm from NOVA too.

Once current health issues are resolved, which may or may not be fairly soon, I will commit to a start date and see it through.
There is nothing I like better than waking up and remembering that I was looking forward to what I was going to do that day.I have this theory. If you have something that you really want to accomplish in life and put it off, you’ll live longer. It’s good to have unfinished business to look forward to tomorrow.
Thanks for your perspective and experience. I get so quickly bored with drills, exercises and technique builders. I did so much of that stuff with other instruments. I'm that way with everything, and always have been: I want to run before I can walk. I don't want to go through "this is a whole note, these are the lines of the staff" stuff yet again. But.
Taking the attitude you did, of being a total beginner, is the only way I know to make it work for me. I know that if I don't, I will skip through stuff, and that won't be the commitment that is needed to produce the desired result, which is completing the course. I know already that if I skip stuff that I will at some point have to refer back to at least some of it in a later lesson, and that will make the later lesson disjointed.
All righty, then. Once current health issues are resolved, which may or may not be fairly soon, I will commit to a start date and see it through. Ari Cap is too good a clinician and player not to see what she wants me to learn. Plus, she once played at a local dive, and remembered it. So there's that. Thanks again!
On a happy note, complimented on my tone in my most recent upload for Ari Cap's course. Halfway through and things are getting much more interesting.
Received two replacement ear pads for my Sennheiser PXC 450 cans. Ordered on the cheap from the 'zon and the process of putting the old clip rings in the new pads has me to the point of just saying forget it. Christmas gifted myself with a set of Senn HD 4.50BTNC cans. They're Bluetooth but also take a wire. Looks to me they're my new headphones cause I'm not wasting more time fiddling with the new ear pads. The new cans are pretty good and don't require a battery.
What would be cool is if someone invented a folding stool that was angled to allow the player to partially stand while performing. Note to self. Draw out plans on napkin, contact Warren Buffett.

Thanks @mikeoso I was being semi-serious. Thus the Warren Buffett reference. Looks like others already did it.......As a starting point, maybe begin with what the the Brits call a "shooting stick", then see how to alter it for your purposes?
edit...I see another person made suggestion of this. There are also what are called "walking seats".
I got this @ Walmart. This model is for heavier folks(me). There's a slightly shorter, lighter capacity model available. I prop my fazaza on the edge to take some weight off of my 85 y/o knees[I'm 75, the knees are ahead of me age-wise-Ahoy ye GOFs
It is during the brutal recovery from two full knee replacements I decide this is not going to stop me from playing bass, and I'm buying a purposed seat for this. Waiting for me when I get home twenty three days later is a DT8500 On Stage Guitar / Keyboard Throne. It does not strike me as highly portable as it's built like a brick hitsouse.
There are folding ones with a built-in stand and that's likely what I'll do next opportunity.

Because I've always 'slung' my bass fairly low, I've always stood. Even semi-seated puts it a little high for me, but I'm getting used to it outta necessity.Yip, that looks like just the thing.
I had a pretty bad case of the kneezles. It's still easier for me to play seated.

I just grappled with that myself with my Sony's a few weeks ago, once I read the directions it was a lot easier.Mine have no rings though.
I'm on my third set with my venerable Sony MDR-V6 cans. Cheap eBay aftermarket carp is fishy, just sayin'.
