Didn’t you hear? Stimulation will come in the form of the naked movie channel as part of the basic service. The government funds to pay for it will go directly to the media companies. They don’t make enough money.
I have a terrific rejoinder for that, but I'd get banned 'fer shure'.

Saw The Who in Houston last year.

Daltrey lost his voice completely halfway through the set and that was that.

Townshend promised a return, which was duly scheduled, then postponed, then canceled outright because of the document panicdemic.

Don't know if the old geezers will ever make it back here but I'm hoping they do.

OVER half a century ago, my GRANDFATHER, whoe retired from the BBC in 1968 and died in 1976, recorded a couple of sessions they did at the BBC. That's how long they've been around...

What did you get an F in?

I dropped out of kindergarten, had to repeat the first grade, almost had to repeat the second and forth grades. Bouncing between two schools allowed me to pass. They said that I would never make it out of elementary school. A teacher in the fifth grade turned things around for me.

'Rithmetic!

You are fortunate. These days IS is often sourced out to contractors.

That idea had been tossed around the organization a while back when all the department heads informally surveyed their staff. They felt better knowing that 40 hours a week they could reach a live person that would help resolve their issue. Also, staff that are long term tend to know what special needs other staff need on computers. Contractors don't have a vested interest. I don't see contracting in this small town for decades. I may be wrong.

I’ve been to Northern North Dakota but not Southern North Dakota. There were way too many mosquitoes. The Red River floods every spring. When water hits the banks, the bugs hatch and look for blood. Maybe that’s why they call it the Red River.

The golden anniversary of PDQ Bach is discussed by Peter Schickele.

We played in Minot, ND one year and got to see Rush there. Lots of Air Force guys were just nuts about the show. More guys than gals! Kinda of a bummer!

If the Air Force is like the Navy, the gals are only interested in Officers. Particularly those with more than 2 gold bars(AF-Captain, Navy-Lieutenant-for those unfamiliar).

The Chief of Staff of the US Air Force decided to personally recruit some pilots and he saw two young twins. He looked at the first young man and asked: Son, what skills can you bring to the Air Force? The young man looks at him and says: I'm a pilot! The General gets all excited, turns to his aide and says: Get him in today, all the paper work done, everything, do it! The aide hustles the young man off.

The General looks at the second young man and asks: What skills could you bring to the Air Force? The young man says: I chop wood! Son, the general replies: We don’t need wood choppers in the Air Force, what do you know how to do? I chop wood! Young man, huffs the general, You are not listening to me, we don’t need wood choppers, this is the 20th century! Well, the young man says, You hired my brother! Of course we did, says the general, He’s a pilot! The young man rolls his eyes and says: So what! I have to chop it before he can pile it!

I managed to collect some hickory nuts on my walk in the forest this morning. They are kind of like a walnut inside. This led to excited visits from a beagle and a young samoyed. The green nut husks give off an aroma that they liked.

The samoyed is an interesting breed. This dog was normally snow white but was having a great time rolling in the muddy fields left by the rain last night. The mud was balled up at the end of each hair. The person with the dog said the the coat self cleans with a shake and brushing, they’ve never given her a bath.

Which reminds me of a banking joke I heard while consulting to Citibank back when...

Why do banks have drive up windows?

So they can see all the cars they own!

Especially the 64 Chevy Malibu.

Halloween merchandise is now displayed near the supermarket checkout lanes. I see fewer and fewer people wearing masks. Popped in a boutique for incense. Uncertain just who likes patchouli, but it isn't me. Imaginary patchouli users drive old Mercedes-Benz saloons converted to run on fryer oil. Incense here because I find it pleasant and conducive to a peaceful setting.

"Be sure to vote!" the boutique owner wished me as I left the shop.

A rather large packet arrived in Monday's post. It's the packet marked "Surgery" and full of Things To Mind until the procedure late next month. The practical end is my right foot will be immobilized for a good while as I heal. No particular place to go (until December — maybe).
