There's something about taking something you love and spending some time doing the redundant, slow and quiet work to keep it looking good. I think it's relaxing and keeps your mind occupied just enough that it can't wander too far away and cause trouble with itself :D

Today I find out if and when I get a knee replacement. I keep on having visions of the introduction to the old TV series, Bionic Man.

Forgive me if I have asked this before but have you tried Duralane?? it certainly helped with Dorothy’s knee problems. She too has to have knee replacements plus bypass surgery in her groin.

She decided to get me fixed first and then we’ll tackle her problems.

Big hands, big feet...

Very cool stuff! I could decorate my house with stuff like that, except for the small matter of getting dead and wife going to jail.

@99Z3 you really pissed me off today with all that positive attitude you seem inflicted with. It motivated me to get off my bum and get out in the 90 deg heat to check out the noise my jeep was making. Attitudes are contagious. I'm only happy when I'm grumpy. A bitching sailor is a happy sailor. I thought for sure my sickly rear axle was ready to let go. Couldn't get the noise jacking up the tire and spinning it, except once. So I dropped it down and re-torqued all the lug nuts. The corner where the noise came from was pretty loose, one only finger tight. Test drive reveals no noise. It was consistently thumping when coasting. So now i forgive you :D (joking of course, not upset with you ever). Now I'm a happy GOF! I had planned to get up early tomorrow and tear into it. I need to go get an aluminum Dana 44 and rebuild that before the weak 35 dies. That or rebuild my TLC axles and modify to fit. Messy with ABS sensors and all. I'm a happy GOF with tomorrow off from dreaded work. Maybe work on my 15" cab.

People bitch about the weight of tube amps (me included) this transformer is so heavy you'd have to build the amp on a heavy duty industrial dolly. My buddy has threatened to seriously build this into an amp. I don't really believe he's serious. But, he comes from an era where his best friend added FOUR power tubes to an SVT cause it wasn't powerful enough. ...Bwahahahahahahahahahaha

OK, I'm grumpy as I threw my back. Way to start holidays - I was walking down a hill when the dog lunged ever so slightly and I took a bad step. 2 days later I am starting to localize where the pain originates, so I suppose it will heal in two more days. So, I can't take my new Stihl chainsaw out to the woods as I planned.

About guns and daughters - I used to joke about my daughter growing up, that I'd need a shotgun before too long. Of course I failed to tell her about salt pellets. So she grew up with real anxiety about her dad gunning down suitors. I have been regretting this but I have bought a couple of shotguns fro hunting, even with this history. The said daughter finally found her a boyfriend I am prod of, a real decent and honest guy whose ideals I aspire to approach. Not bad, with such history.

But I can't get off the couch with this back. More Euro 16 soccer for me.
