Salmon a year old still swimming in sea water are what are harvested. Once they hit the fresh water they start to decay and their flesh gets soft.

A former colleague used to say that society had work and retirement backwards. He believed we should allow young people to explore and enjoy the world until about age 40 or so. Then when they were ready to slow down and make a lasting contribution they should live their work life. His argument was rooted in the observation that people's knees and backs were better suited to this reverse chronological approach.

He's working on treats as I write.

When there's something he really enjoys, he won't touch it for maybe a day or more. When he decides it is time, he'll play with his treat before he sets in on chewing. Doggie heaven.

If only it was that we were just lost...IMO mankind in general seems to be deliberately ignoring any moral compass, knows it, and just doesn't seem to care. My disappointment is rooted in what I observe as the lack of a will to do the right thing and respect others as well as the planet we all live on. And as if screwing up the earth wasn't bad enough, we're apparently about to start messing up other planets.
