Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

My wife and I went out for dinner Saturday and then watched the sunset along Lake Michigan. A beautiful fall day here in Michigan.

When we got home, I installed the Fender Custom Shop '62 Pickups in my MIM Fender Precision bass. My first solder (or sodder, as we say in the states) went great. The only issue I had was trying to de-solder the old ground wire off of the volume pot. The Fender factory put on a glob of solder about the size of a wad of gum. I struggled a bit until I added some fresh solder and the old came right off.

If I had a quarter for every How-to-solder video I watched, I could have paid a luthier to change them out.

A special thanks to beans-on-toast and Charlie Tango for their helpful advice.

My MIM Player Series P bass, now with the CS '62 Pups and LaBella Flatwound strings, sounds even more vintage than ever.

Next up is for me to research which new Pups to install in my MIM Fender Jazz to also get that old vintage sound.....:nailbiting:

It will sound even more vintage-y if you dress like someone from 1962 when you play it.

Funny trick of the eyes: I first read this as "Being horny now, they’re starting the celebrations earlier this year."

As you age, you’re declining vision does play tricks to make you think you are still young and virile. In your mind, you don’t see yourself as being old. Reality paints a different story of an aging body that can no longer comply. Enjoy it while you can.

Jane Greer could have fit into any generation. She was born in 1924.

Talking Christmas in October is :rollno: :rollno: Let's not try and skip Halloween so blithely. I had this very conversation IRL this evening.
My daughter's favorite day of celebration is Halloween(she was born 11/1). The following day Walmart will be "decking the halls". Aaaaaaarrrrggh!
