I use the same “wallpaper” on every device I have:

I take it to the next level. I go with with black. It uses the least amount of battery, or so I have read.

I got tired of wallpapers that overpowered the icons I was trying to see. I decided to simplify things. I walked over to the wall in our den, got out my phone, and snapped a picture of the wall. I can now see the icons without any problems. There is a gradient in the picture since I didn’t hold the phone parallel to the wall.

My wife thinks that I am crazy. She changes her wallpaper frequently - pictures of the grandkids.

Well, are you?

The Ohio Revised Code specifically mentions me in its definition of “insane”. Psychologists want to write books about me. I wrote an essay about irrational numbers. My editor wrote a single comment, “Apropos”.

Other than that, I believe that I am at least somewhat normal.

Seeing desktops full of shortcuts is way too chaotic for my workspace. A soothing image of a bass makes me happy

That may tell the tale and live

There is a sysadmin whose habit is keeping about a half a dozen telnet sessions open on his screen, along with who knows what other garbage. It is the morning of 1 April when I roll in and

at his desk take a screenshot, then convert the screenshot to an image that I use as wallpaper as I hide the (Window) taskbar.

About 30 minutes later he comes to my desk to buttonhole innocent me  as the culprit

I finally found a 1920x1080 wallpaper for Win10 that I like. Excellent background for icons. The texture is easier on my eyes than a solid color, and the Windows logo isn't so bright as to be irritating. I have my Windows apps icons on the left, and all of my music app icons on the right.
