Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

My most recent personal descent beyond the uncharted seas of culinary decadence took place as I innocently strolled up to a sidewalk menu advertising a fried oyster BLT.

In another (more innocent?) age there is a vice-president of a newspaper group who is an unabashed gourmand. The essential setup is I'll buy dinner if you buy the wine (but you don't select the wine, I do). His dinner table game of what is the best meal you ever had? is unwinnable unless

unless you play the ace in the hole

a tin of sardines, some stinky cheese, a fresh, warm loaf of crusty bread, and quality beer.

Talking sardines.....

We were in Turkey sitting on a harbor wall at 5am, with a a huge loaf of crusty bread and a couple of liters of local rutgut Raki when the Sardine boats started coming in.....

It went like this....We waved Raki in their direction generale....After 10 minutes they were our new bff's and were grilling Sardines and Calamari over charcoal on the harbor bbq with a wondrous spicy tomato sauce.....

We supplied the bread too......

We ate with them every morning until we moved on......

Can taste and smell it now.......sigh.....

The bass player, Bart, is the musical director. He put the band together and oversees all musical aspects. The financial backing behind the band is their drummer.
This is all as it should be, too.
Ahhhhhhh!!
It’s TwentyFreakin’Four degrees outside my door!!!

In addition!!!
There’s a dusting of this strange sugar-looking stuff on the ground!!

Watta we gonna DO?!?!?!
Spend 4 1/2 hours shoveling out of it, like I did today? :eyebrow:

I do miss the snow though, seriously.
Uh huh. :roflmao:

There's snow, and then there's shoveling deep snow in predawn light, in jammies, so the dog has somewhere to go (a friend told me)
See two comments, above.....but, with no dog in the picture. Nor, any pre-dawn light (I'm not that crazy). ;)

Oh, and you meant pre-dawn darkness, right? :smug:

Made good today on the promise of a new bass for completing all 40 weeks of Ari Cap's Music Theory for the Bass Player cohort. It's an Acinonyx in Lake Placid Blue with a parchment pickguard. Expected to ship around the end of January.

Congrats to both accomplishments! Although I don't have a clue about that bass.

Congratulations, well deserved. Did you choose a string option?

Acinonyx is in the cat family. I like the colour but I’ve been to Lake Placid and it wasn’t quite what I expected. Maybe it wasn’t sunny enough.
