The song originated when, in response to a question from Beatles aide Alistair Taylor about songwriting, McCartney sat down at a harmonium and asked Taylor to say the opposite of whatever he said. The completed song includes a musical coda, which was improvised by the Beatles when they were recording the track in October 1967. Unimpressed with the composition, Lennon pushed for "I Am the Walrus" to be the single's A-side, before reluctantly accepting that "Hello, Goodbye" was the more commercial-sounding of the two sides.

Of all the stupid, vapid, insipid songs to get stuck in my head, "Hello, Goodbye" ranks right up there with "Sugar, Sugar."

Personally, me and mine are all good, thank you. :)
Keeping as safe and isolated as we can. Covid numbers here are not good though...you can sense a barely-suppressed sense of panic in daily government briefings as our hospitals are struggling to cope.
Here's hoping the vaccine roll-out will do it's job.

The thing about these covid inoculations, there are two shots. The first shot gives you 50% protection, the second one 21 days later is supposed to take you to 95% protection. Note, that 95%, not 100%. The two inoculations are identical, same potency. At first when they got say 1000 doses, this covered 500 people. They held back 500 does for the second shot 21 days later. Now some authorities are saying to inoculate 1000 people and in 21 days, let’s hope that we have enough to cover the second doses and those that haven’t had a dose yet. But they may not. Some are also arguing, it’s better to have 50% coverage than a slower rollout to all. Who knows where things will be in the coming months.

BTW, the drug manufacturers have been going full tilt with production for a long time, way before approval to use the vaccines was given. They hedged their bets in anticipation that all would go well and it paid off. This approach was pushed by the government so that it would be available to all as soon as possible.

People in Russia tell stories of the old days when they couldn’t import instruments. They had to build their own but didn’t have the raw materials. One day, grandma’s vintage dining table would mysteriously go missing. These instruments are sought after collectors items in Russia these days.

It’s very certainly not my favorite. That album is my favorite Beatles album, followed by Abby Road.

I do not skip this piece when listening to the album...notice I did not call it a song.

I did see the Fab Faux perform this work. It was very interesting to see how they pulled it off.
