I, like others, stuggle with the definition of tone deafness. I have a son-in-law who is a genius with things electro-mechanical and loves music. He spent middle school and high school playing saxophone in the school bands and helps a friend DJing parties. But when he tried to "pick-up" bass guitar (I don't think he really tried to learn), he couldn't get very far at all! I tried very hard to teach him, but he couldn't/wouldn't remember squat! And, when he thinks he's "singing" it's like nails (of any kind, lots of them!) on a chalkboard!

I think he's tone deaf. Yet his mother swears he always made As in band class. Yet there's no known incident or injury since then to explain now.

I dunno.

I think there is a digitally remastered double CD box set of Miles Davis whistling in the shower on the way. They finally ran out of bootlegs and alternate takes of everything else.
Had a hard time finding some one to write the liner notes.

The Beatles were mentioned earlier. Check out guitarist Andy Timmons and his cover of the Sgt Pepper album with a three piece group. Pretty cool! Andy is a really nice guy, too. He was a guest artist at one of the school jazz camps a few years ago.

I've seen that photo, and toured the building a few times over the years. Used to be shabby, dingy, and sawdusty. I've not been since the new owners remodeled it.

Heritage used to. Now it's a "tourist attraction" so I've had less reason to go. I used to know and occasionally bump into some of the Heritage crafters around town. One of the guys who worked there when it was Gibson did the set-up on my first short-scale bass. Sadly, when I tried to get him to do some more work on it, I found out he had passed away.

Technology progressed considerably by the time the space shuttle came into service.

The HP41C flew on nine shuttle missions. It was used to perform calculations necessary on the missions. It also served as a backup for the main computer. I had an HP41CV at the time. The difference was that it had four ports that accepted chips, there were ones for math and engineering for example. You could also plug in a card reader for loading and saving programs. It was quite a sophisticated computer.

It's interesting to note that the Apollo systems started being designed in 1961 and continued to 1965. So some of the technology of 1969 dated back a number of years. That's usually the case with all these type of systems.
