I have a good friend of Scottish heritage and he plays bag pipes. He bought a set of electronic pipes. I asked if was going on tour and plugging into the arena sound system. He said he was joining the Red Hot Chili Pipers and sent me this link. I'm not a fan of bag pipes but this is pretty cool.

Red Hot Chili Peppers fans are mistakenly buying tickets for Scottish bagpipe band Red Hot Chili Pipers

Which brings up the age old question... Does the Pipers bass player wear a sock under his kilt?

Answer: I really don't need to know.

Were men arrested if they did not wear a hat back then?
The seated guy is wearing the megaphone!

Nancy has a lovely voice but she can’t sing and tune her guitar at the same time.

Cool to hear her using a flanger on her Martin. I used to run my acoustics through my old MXR Phase 90. I should do that again as now two of my acoustics have in-built built-in pickups. Back in the day I ran an AKG D200E with an in-line un-balancing transformer.

That was very nice. The effect was tastefully applied. I have an array of phasers, including an MXR Phase 100, the one with two knobs. With only one instrument, Heart wanted to thicken the sound of the guitar to make it sound fuller. I think that they overapplied it.

Lot of microphone talk around here

I don’t think that I could use one of those micro phones like this Zanco T1.

Carole King at home in Laurel Canyon working on a tapestry, 1971. The house is still there, you can see that window from the narrow street below. I wonder if she ever found what she was looking for. The pillow is for her cat, Telemachus. Cats like to look out the window as well.

So. Just for the halibut, I decided to hook up the Peavey* KB300[3 channel keyboard amp w/ a 15, horn, and piezo]which I have sitting around aging. HOLY[STUFF]! I'd forgotten how this thing kicks @$$. Thankfully, it's on wheels, else it woulda kicked my @$$. It still sounds amazing, whichever of 3 basses I plugged in(too lazy to dig out the Les Paul 5er). When I used to gig with it, I'd put the bass and duffel on top and roll it in. 'course I still had to lift the damn thing into the gigmobile(and back out of same).

* I can spell it out 'cos it was built waaay b4 they changed their business practices-which I can't forgive.
