I like Driven to Tears, probably because I played it in a band I was in.

That looks the place. What a nice walk from hotel to pub!
My brother-in-law out here has the bucks, he owns a construction business and he loves music, stereo equipment etc so I get his old cast off stuff. A few weeks ago he gave me some late 70's Pioneer separates, including a SA-9500 80 WRMS per channel integrated power amp, a CT-F950 Cassette deck, a Sansui T-7 tuner and a Pioneer TX-7800 tuner, now this was top of the line stuff when it was new and it's still really expensive, and these were his extras
. He's buying a McIntosh MC-2152 power amp, now this thing costs as much as a decent car. It's an all tube 150 watt RMS per channel power amp. I think he says it weighs 110 lbs. I don't think he'll be casting that thing off anytime soon.
But anyway, I'm amazed at the amount of pre-recorded cassettes you can buy on ebay. I was thinking well, this is a nice tape deck but it's kind of useless but no!!!! I just splurged and bought an audiophile Pioneer CD player from the mid 90's that's still supposed to surpass a lot of new ones. All I have to do now is pick up some decent speakers and a turntable here and I'm be happy.
If I ever move here permanently I have some good stuff at home too but that will all go at once. I dragged an SVT head out here a couple of times on a plane and I'm not going to bring anything heavy like that again on a plane.

Of course, that's why I used him as an example, or our friend through son, Joe Osborn who used the same Jazz he got in 1960 for decades.
That's why I left out Sting. I've never read anywhere that anyone liked him.

This is about mid-May in Dublin. I should like to see Portsmouth.
Portsmouth is a very nice little city, it's kind of touristy but is very pretty and quaint. All this time I didn't realize you lived in Dublin. I have some Irish and Scottish ancestry and always say I have enough to know...
My wife really likes it as it has a lot of little shops and things like that. She pronounces like it seems like it should be pronounced to anyone who is not a native English speaker despite repeated corrections.
This picture doesn't look very quaint though. I've been to London before but never to Ireland.

I'm in the States now, not entirely happy about it, and never lived in Dublin. My spiritual home is on Achill Island, and I think about Achill every day.

Took the job with N. America as my region, being here already owing to my relationship with someone whose name is no longer spoken in my presence
and looks like I went native
because now I have a US passport and and pretty stuck here until I figure something out. Fully vaccinated Americans will be able to travel to the EU this summer. This summer sees me circling back to the Second City.
My intention is to be in the States for summer and autumn, and on Achill for winter and spring.

Really didn't believe this return to the states was survivable. It gets harder and harder every time. So now what? In my former line of work, I make darn sure at every site to expect the absolute worst. Seldom disappointed, and everything that isn't an utter disaster is a blessed miracle
Anyone can get vaccinated in Massachusetts if that's a problem where you are.
Looks like a beautiful place, I've never heard of it before.
I've been stuck out here for a year and a half now, I was supposed to return last April, had some decent gigs set up, Covid took them away.
