Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Heard a tale of a young man whose parents named him R.B. Just the letters. After some 18 years of explaining his name is R.B., filled out the paperwork at his induction as R (only) B (only) Jones. Whereupon he became Ronly Bonly Jones ever and after (according to the army).

Probably apocryphal, yet absolutely believable.

All this talk of eyeglasses gets my grump on! Cataracts have improved my distance vision, thus ruining my beloved progressive lens, except for reading. Now I drive without glasses, so gotta remember to put 'em on if a cop stops me, due to corrective lens restricton my license! But the TV on the other side of the room is at that in between distance that my progressive lens is too strong for and my old weak cheaters are too weak for! Dang! I can't wait for my surgeries! Mrs. Dog had hers a couple years ago and just uses weak cheaters for threading needles when sewing! Grumble, grumble, grump, grump ... ...

I feel your pain. I'm nearsighted. I have bifocals, regular kind, on two pairs of glasses. One pair for most stuff, driving, reading, etc. The other pair has a weaker upper for the computer and music. Then for small, close work glasses are off. Thanks, presbyopia.

Sometimes it's weird. I can have the computer glasses on and see perfect for distance vision. That usually happens in the mornings.

Excellent. I'm surprised I made it out of my early 20s alive. We measured distance in Miller Ponies. I had friends in a college town about 75 miles away. It was exactly an 8-pack in distance - for me. When the girlfriend (now wife) came along we dialed it back to an 8-pack for two. Bars in MO closed at midnight. Then we would drive over a narrow bridge to IL since they stayed open until 2am.

Ah, the bad ol' days. Never again. It's a home based hobby now.

I have the same problem. My distance vision has greatly improved, although my night vision has gotten very poor. I am almost to the point of needing a seeing eye dog so I can drive at night.

I caught myself on the freeway with the blinker on the other day for who knows how long. I don't hear it clicking much anymore. :bag:

Fortunately for me, I have a truck with chimes that come on if the blinker was on a long time. Unfortunately, not that effective with windows down, loud radio or ears (hearing aids) not installed!

No problem here. I don't use the blinker. In FL, if you signal to change lanes, some ____ will cut you off.:banghead:
