Glad you have not given up, Sir. Hopefully you can at least find some fella's to get together with for fun. Another way you might enjoy using your hard earned skills, maybe some of the local universities have student clubs where you could teach your out of classroom real world experience to some young puppies (and even cute young pupplets!). Could be very rewarding for you and they could really gain a lot. As university staff (technically, actually I have very little to do with the university itself) I can join student clubs and they even let me pay dues! I've had good experiences with a few. Just a thought. Hey, you could even try to teach them how to play without beating the damned strings

Oh my, she is awesome isn't she? One of the most talented and prolific that ever took the stage.

Even years later she's still doing it. That voice got richer, deeper, and even more majestic. And she's not afraid of technology either - as this midi guitar solo work demonstrates. BUt she was also always a major innovator when it came to guitar performance. She probably wrote the book when it comes to using alternate and exotic guitar tunings. :

Love how every so often that charming Canadian lilt she has comes "oot."

Hey, if she had enough going to get Jaco along with the other fusion luminaries in this video to perform as her tour group, she has to have something going for her right?

In 1963, Joni Mitchell and Neil Young hung out together at coffee houses, each writing great songs. An underaged kid traveling to small town dives. Neil met Stephen Stills around then when Stephen was on the circuit. These coffee houses were small places, a capacity of a hundred was huge. So many talented people.

Here is Joni doing a song written by friend John Phillips of the Mamas and the Papas. It was a tight community.
