Doing some heavy duty design work on some new products and I found myself listening to an old Fanny album while laying out PCBs. Fanny is the ultimate music for us rocking old farts... they have become the "grandmothers of chick rock" having been the first all girl rock band to release an album on a major label (with two top 40 songs?) and they could rock too.
I first met them in about 1978 when I started working with one of their brothers, and did a variety of shows with them over the years. We have all stayed in touch over the years, the music reminds me of where we came from. I still work some projects with their brother after what, 38 years? This is how the business used to be, full of long term relationships.

They do, even though they've stopped including anything of interest to us GOF's.

Awesome, thanks. I don't get any guitar mags, just the pro audio ones. I do read Bass Player though.
June's sister Jean plays bass gear that I built for her, as does her brother and nephew. It's a small world.
Custom bass gear is always a secret weapon.
Vintage Guitar is one of the best, not just guitar. From time to time, they offer free issues. Worth checking out.
I subscribe to digital editions of magazines and view them on an iPad. An advantage is that they are interactive and offer additional material. You can often purchase single issues through their apps. I often do this with audio and music related such as Mix Magazine.
I think having an iPad Air everything reads so easily and the Air is so light, and nowadays they make the magazines online flip like real pages. But I'm also still working in IT. Everyone I work with is young enough to be my grandchildren! 
@agedhorse that is so cool you made guitars to the stars. I'm on kind of a quest myself. I'm wanting to build a 3/4 bass that's very light that is a cross between an Ibanez body, Tele looks on the top, and with one MusicMan pickup with one tone and one volume. I want it light, 30" with a maple neck. I priced one out with Warmoth, but the body's too heavy, they can't modify to my specs, and they can't modify the short scale neck to look like a Tele neck. And it has to weigh next to NOTHING. I'm happy with my lightweight mahogany Ibanez lefty but I'd love to have my dream bass one day. I fell in love with the Tele style bass ever since I saw Steve Miller in '71 at the Paramount in Seattle. When it cost $15 a ticket!

My digital subscriptions came up this month. Up untill this year, increases were modest. The prices of all of the renewals have soared this year. Bass Player was the worst, up 23.54%! I dropped it.

I bought an iPad Air 2 when they came out but the newer larger sized iPad Pro would be easier on my eyes.
I see that they have a new MacBook Pro coming out soon and I need to upgrade. The retina screen has been made even better, more contrast and colors. The new technology will probably be in the next generation of iPads.
Yep, and be ready to pay $1700+ for that new MacBook! People are buying up the old ones in droves! But hey, if you have the money it's a good investment.
Just imagine how many of those that will sell cuz they don't play bass!
I've been using an iPad Air 2 for everything except music production for quite a while now...even replaced a big ol on stage lyric book...
