Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

You'll show them!
I've showed them everything-- inside and out, and still couldn't get one of those famed nurse sponge baths.:meh:
I'd like to believe that these 20 something doctors understand more about my human body than me... so far: disappointed. To be fair, I can't blame them for feeling like their Degree is more worthy than my internet download folder and mouth hole. Wait, yes I can! :rage:
f!

Oh, man...

Decades ago I traveled up to Lubbock for a vasectomy. The prep nurse was a drop dead gorgeous young lady, very professional, but intimidatingly beautiful. Needless to say, when she started manhandling things to shave, i started reacting as any 32 yr old man would, having their member manipulated by a stunning woman.

She thumped me in a manner that cured the problem, and frankly developed an aversion to any nurse fantasies ever again...ever.

That pretty set of eyes behind the mask sees the patient as a slab. Dang it.

When I want for mine, the first in the UK apparently, the doctor did every thing needed. It was this procedure that demonstrated my tolerance for local anaesthetics. He started cutting and I started yelling! I swear I was hanging from the ceiling by finger and toe nails!! :(

I was very relieved to find out the thing still worked afterwards! LOL

Sadly age and Diabetes exact a terrible price! :rollno:

It looks as all it takes to become a GOF is an ability and willingness to talk about diseases, operations, and degeneration in bodily functions. I have joined the ranks of people who like to pick up conversations on health issues. Some of the stories I have heard have been outright scary, involving fatalities. I hope I don't need to start recounting a story like that, from a personal perspective.

I remember saying to some friends years ago I'll never talk about old folks crap like illness surgeries etc. haha ....... I have seen the enemy (age) and he is us. Now it seems that our war stories aren't so much drunken drugged debaucheries as they are how the latest illness or surgery went. I'd still rather recount my road dog days, like playing the Playboy club and having Les McCann sit in on B3 with us multiple times, then teaching him how to do nose hits of weed on break! Lol

Sure...we do that a lot (I do, anyway) as well. Stories of dang near getting electrocuted from improper grounding on stages, sharing venues and THEIR stories with the Texas Playboys, just as one example...bailing out the steel player....locking the keyboard guy out of the motel room in Durant OK in his underpants ...sending a transvestite to the lead singer's room after the show...etc.

Problem with those things: most of the time you had to be there to get their full impact, and nowadays nobody believes/wants to hear about it anyway.

Sometimes I think that the best is behind me career wise. Back in the late Sixties in Liverpool, I had Earl Preston’s Refections. One of the top bands in the city. I met my wife at a gig playing in that band.

Late Seventies - early Eighties saw me in Lionheart doing Formals and Graduations around Ontario. I loved that band with it’s harmony and set long (45 minute) medleys. We had so much fun! Every gig was an adventure.

<sigh> Now I’m just searching the want ads and finding disappointment at every session I go to. It’s all so demeaning and depressing.

Medleys are indeed cool. No dead air for as long as it lasts, Back in the Mesozoic era I can remember being in at least 3 bands that did Elvis medleys and a host of "ice cream changes" medleys. You could do that stuff for hours.

All you left out was discussions about prescriptions, How bad we had it years back but never once complained, and how despite our deteriorating conditions, we can outwork anyone half our age and of course, not complain about it one bit :D

I enjoyed the clip but the “faux” Scouse accents rubbed a bit the wrong way.

Reminds me of a story from my past. My wife has a faux fur coat that has a very convincing look. One evening a woman came up to us and started telling my wife what a thoughtless terrible person she was for wearing a fur coat. "What about the poor animals that had to die so you can have a fur coat" she yelled. We informed the woman that it was a faux fur coat and spelled faux for her. . To this she replied that it didn’t matter how it was spelled “fox was still fox!” We laughed so much we nearly fell over! :D

They're still drugged debaucheries, just at a slower pace with uglier people and most often legal under a doctor's care.

I hope I don't jinx myself by saying it, but it looks like I may just make it through all of 2016 without any surgeries. Last year wasn't very good in that regard. I did find out a couple weeks ago that I'm gonna need some hip surgery, but I hope to be able to put it off until I get Medicare next fall. Who knows what the state of my health insurance, if it even still exists, will be by then.
