i'm one of those very lucky people who can eat any thing I want to. Only a problem if it's truly bad-as in spoiled.

Many years ago I ran into a similar problem. I wanted a new decal and they wouldn’t sell me one. I was asked to send them the neck and they’d modify it.
Custom Shop did? Was it a neck from a CS bass?
What's the problem? If it wasn't for the black line you can't tell where the pick guard stops and the inlay begins.
I can see where it might be fun in less than bright lights.
What they call a cast iron stomach. I find that waffles and syrup generate a lot of gas which forces things along when you least expect it.

It was in the early 70’s. No custom shop at the time, just good customer service. I have dealt with the custom shop in more recent years when looking for NOS vintage parts. Still, they might be willing to undertake the work if you wanted to modify your neck. A black inlay can be easier if matching black CA glue is used, it can fill any edge gaps. Some companies (Rickenbacker Jeff?) pour in a liquid that fills the space and cures with a perfect fit.
An example of removing an inlay marker. This is worst case. Depending on the adhesive, sometimes a bit of heat will release them.
In your case, you could buy a few matching pick guards and cut them up to make matching inlays. The one in your images above could be too soft for inlays.
They did from late Spring 1973 until late Spring 2008.
I made this photo in late August 2006.
The FWI era (before and after the above-mentioned timespan) used sheet material that was/is set into the neck.

I have mentioned elsewhere the week-long work assignment I once had in a hospital. At one point, to do some work in an (unoccupied) OR, but still keep it as clean as possible, we were required to change out of our street clothes, and into fresh sets of scrubs, shoe covers, hair covers, etc. Rather than launder the scrubs, they just let us keep them.
I still have them around here somewhere. Technically, they still fit, albeit not quite as, uh... comfortably as they once did.

The TV show (and one movie I think) is called Dead Like Me. The plot was actually an intriguing concept and the humor was anything but mainstream sitcom.
