How about czarnina? My mom made it as well as the other dishes mentioned, as my grandma taught all the girls to do. Ya, my kin knew how to use the whole animal.

yeah speaking of Jane Austin, czarnina is a great way to reject a suitor :hyper:

Speaking of Canada and food... We took a fly-in fishing trip through an outfitter in Atikokan, ON. We ate at a restaurant there that had "hot hamburger" on the menu. Well, I should hope it's hot! Not that kind of hot. It came smothered in gravy as did the fries. Had never seen that before but it was good.

You go on a fishing trip and didn’t order fish?

Scorcher? Do tell:

OK, so you're moving from the states to France? Cool! I was thinking it was the other way around.

May your travels be uneventful, and your new home be delightful!
Thanks. Building a "maison en bois" 10 minutes walk from the bay. Plans submitted to the city. Waiting for the building permit. Up to 4 months. 2 for the city, and 2 for local comment. It'll be around 1 December before I can move in. I modified this model for my use (104 m2 vs 112 m2 and 2 bedrooms vs. 3). Doors and windows to suit me.

July 14 is Bastille day, things slow down. The juilletistes take their vacations early, many wait till August.
Yup. And Arcachon is a summer vacation destination. August is a zoo. People move out of their homes and rent them for stupid money. I've worked out living accommodations for 1 September until mine's built, but the last couple of weeks of August will be tricky. I've got to convince my niece NOT to rent out her house, but to let me stay there.
