Saw a black lab refusing to get into his Mercedes limo parked beside the park this morning. He had to be picked up and placed in the vehicle. The door was shut and he started barking. Just didn't want to go home. I know the guy from the trails, we just laughed. This dog isn't alone. Some dogs sit down and loose there ability to walk at the edge of the park. Some are carried home, others have to be dragged, then there are ones that need a belly rub before they continue.

Funny to see how they manipulate the people.

Where is the kid going to go from there. He has nothing to look forward to. Look what happened to Danny Partridge. It was all downhill for him after their band broke up.

At one point he worked as a waitress in a German beer hall.

Wow. I just went back to the future! My first job out of college was assistant crew chief on the neutrino beam line at Fermilab National Accelerator.

Did you make neutrino beams on that production line or did robots do most of the work? Free shipping if over $25? I'm thinking I need one.

I say stuff like that to my wife when we're traveling. See complicated looking machinery on a truck and I'll say, "I don't know what that is but I would like to have it".

Computers and AI? -As s former programmer who once made a living with "Spurt" (Univac's original computer machine language) and then later with Basic and C++, I gotta say there's no such thing (yet?) as AI. As one of my first bosses (a pioneer in the DP [data processing, as we ol'timers called it] industry usta say re computers, "Garbage in, garbage out!!" T'was meant as a reprimand regarding sloppy programming, but was also a reminder as to where the computer's "intelligence" really came from...
Jury Duty: I responded decades ago with a letter to officials saying yes I would serve the call, but I would NEVER vote to convict anyone of a drug offense as I thought drug addiction was a health problem and not a criminal one! -Needless to say I was never summoned ever again by the State of NJ to serve on jury duty...

It's the quantum computers pushing the edges. We've good data on what humans do when given power. Not a lot of data (that I'm aware of, but haven't looked) on what quantum computers do with power.

I had to turn off my "Make America Kittens Again" addon to view the images just upthread. It does what it sounds like it does — replaces images of figures in the news with images of kittens. Kept me sane (relatively) since 2016. Of course it's reading metadata and gets things rong sometimes, like now.

I am pretty sure that Danny Bonaduce pretended to sing and play bass on Partridge Family. So apparently Danny plays bass in real life as well as Christopher Reeve could fly in real life.....

Note: Whenever I think of Superman, I think of the Superman movies starring Christopher Reeves....
