Fast crowd I'm moving with today! :help:

I applaud you for at least trying to keep up!

Grumpy, aching all over... I didn't know lactic acid would build up so fast, chopping birch firewood (all day).

As we get older our bodies start to play cruel tricks on us. I never realized how well our bodies run by themselves when we're young whippersnappers. I would love to trade half of my 'sperience in for a whole body 'restore.'

The hardest part for me is not only giving up carnivorous activities, but replacing that with a bunch of weeds in a bowl with nuts and berries.

Then I'm expected to do a bunch of work for an hour a day, without producing ANYTHING. If I put a months worth of that caloric waste into my Strange Rover, I could have a nice off-road vehicle.

Stuff hurting, turning gray or falling off is only the tip of the iceburg.

I bought a tens therapy gizmo last night. It works.

Agreed! Much of what I eat now look awfully similar to what my horses eat ;)

I found that walking is a nice soothing way to burn calories. Especially with wife and dog. Nice to share those moments and you burn calories.

I'm afraid what I'm supposed to eat might look like that, but taste like what comes out the other end.

I get some very good free tech support from the department my department falls under. This is with pretty high level stuff and I also get vendor support (in exchange for about $10K/year). The vendors are not all very good at working with the interconnecting with other systems. Some are no good at supporting their own stuff even! I take the guys out for pizza a couple of times a year. The best lubricant for tech support is animal fat! Just another occupational hazard :D

That's actually about the only thing I can do. Swimming would be great, but it takes more time to get to/from + locker room time, and I was shocked to find the locker room they make me use is full of naked men. If they'd let me use the other locker room it might be worth the hassle.

   Ditto, but not might fly with wife!

I agree about the walk - weather permitting! I’ll be going for one in a few minutes. :) Today is such a beautiful day but tomorrow we’ll be in the minus C range again.

I kinda cycle my breakfasts. One morning I’ll have a big salad with chicken, tuna or Salmon. The next morning I’ll have soup I concoct out of leftovers. Our local grocery store has a rotisserie chicken for 7.99 on Tuesdays after 3PM. We always buy one and that does for some meals and my soups and salads.

Walking has been recommended by my doc...loads of fun, isn't it? That, and eating 'right...'

No one told me getting older was this exciting. Every day is a new adventurous salad or eating my Raisin Bran in a different room.

The dreaded nutritional therapist dropped by today, at my treatment bedside (I have to do dialysis a couple of times a week) and she asked "Have you always eaten this well?" My blood screen was squeaky clean. I had to answer I have a one-woman support group for this. My wife is probably as competent as any trained nutrition professional. I don't miss eating unhealthily either, I witnessed first hand what that did to my father (first triple bypass at 45).
