Congratulations on the puppy. My wife has a Jack Russel mix that she named Bear Dog. She wasn't impressed when I said his middle name is Leah.

I've been looking at those. Had to do a vocal track this week for a friend. My studio isn't well equipped for loud vocals which is one reason most of my original stuff is more breathy and close-mic'd, but this song really demanded I belt it out in a big way in places.
I'm happy enough with what I ended up singing, but not as happy as I'd like to be with the way it recorded. Since I did it gratis I think it will do, but I couldn't charge money for that. It'll be fine for someone's demo which is all I think this is, but I need to step up my game in there, acoustically speaking.

We picked up a one year old Chinese Crested back in January. More correctly, we had him delivered from his foster home back east.
We made a little video on his arrival day, and I am so glad we did. I posted some highlights on YouTube for some friends. Hard to imagine a happier day for us or him.
I think I need one with an open back because I cannot belt out songs into a large diaphragm condenser from only 2-3 feet away without distorting the mic, unless I can turn the input level down. I can only do that if the vocal has no quiet passages in it (which I usually call over-singing).
That sounds quite reasonable, to me.

That's one happy pupper! All three of my little guys LOVE living room furniture...the fluffier, the better. So happy for both the peeps and pup!
He really is a happy little guy. We had all the others barricaded in the den where their crates are in order to facilitate slow introductions and the ex-pen set up in the kitchen for Max in case he needed his own space; the terrier mix was not too pleased with that arrangement but we had them all out playing together within an hour
Since then, Max has become BFFs with Logan, our 8-year-old Chinese Crested Powderpuff, which is really a happy thing because Logan didn't really have anyone to play with; our others are all a bit older than him. Makes me happy to see them enjoying themselves and each other.

My father's family pet dog was a ̶d̶i̶r̶t̶y̶ ̶r̶a̶t̶ miniature schnauzer named Otto, who woke up him up if I came in at some odd hour

FWIW, lunch today was bay-side on a terrace with a nice breeze off the ocean. Two orders of six #3 oysters, a big slice of pâté de canard, slices of 4 different kinds of bread with butter, a glass of really good tasting white (I took one very small sip for the taste, and gave the rest to my niece), a bottle of eau gazeuse for me, plus a shared order of bulots (sea snails). Less than 40 € for the entire meal. Loving it here already!
Good thing I got my pass sanitaire a couple of days ago. No ticky, no washy.
