I don’t get cats. I think that one I see in the mourning must have a split personality disorder.

One day, she comes running to greet me at the edge of the property. She lies down on her side and wants a pet. She’s got a nice orange, black, brown, and white coat. The next day, she won’t come when I call and sits on her porch giving me this evil blank stare. Maybe I smell of the dogs that greet me on the trail.

Just remember this. If that cat thought it could eat you, it would try.

Well, I keep seeing posts about folks finding vintage basses for dirt cheap. Either they are fake posts or some day I will find one, right? ;)

There’s always hope.

I bought my Hammond B organ at a pre auction sale, it was under $100. Three Leslie cabinets were $75 each. They had a wall of NOS instruments, all under $100. I passed because I thought that I spent enough on the organ and cabs.

Another time, a music store was closing. New US made Fender Squires were $75 each without a case. Stupid me only bought an in-hole Dunlop tube pickup.

A bandmate bought a 50’s PBass for $25, it was hanging on filling station wall. I guess that someone couldn’t pay their car repair bill. This was in the mid 60’s.

I regret passing up on a lot of deals. At the same time, I gave away a lot of instruments. Players did that back then.

I cut grass too, 1st time since the corona. Man, I am out of shape.

Yeah, I need to get back on the exercise routine. I was walking/jogging a mile most days then got plantar fasciitis in my right foot. It took about 1.5 months to clear that up. I think the jogging part caused it. We found a low impact workout on the internets that's easy on the feet but definitely gets the cardio going! And she's cute, too.:D

If I had the swear jar coin to buy a pre-CBS Fender, I'd spend it elsewhere. No Billy Joel Heart attack ack ack ack for me thanks.

Agreed. I paid 1600 for my 2020 MIA Geddy and that is the best bang for the buck I can imagine. There ain't no way I am even entertaining buying a Custom Shop, Masterbuilt, or old ass bass guitar for upwards of 1500 dollars. A) I have an incredible bass already. B) There are way too many bass guitars out there that would perform just as well as some hyper expensive instrument.

And(little known secret)no one pays any attention to the bass player unless it's Sir Paul, Geddy, or Suzi Quatro (yes, there are others) until he/she really f---s* up.

I have plantar faciitis in both dogs. Asics rank consistently high on the P F reviews. I swear by them. Our 10 Best Asics for plantar fasciitis in US - September 2021 | BestProductsReviews.com

A lot of people like to gamble (Las Vegas, anyone?).

We were going to take my wife's first socsec check out there in 2020 to pursue an investment opportunity, then the global medical adventure happened. We had only gone once in the past 8 yrs.

We used to go once or twice a year a long time ago then got burned out on it. We are not high rollers by any means but we played enough to get rooms and meals comped, a limo ride from/to the airport, and tickets to shows in the hotel. Used to have a hotel rep that took care of us. Just called her up and said we'd like to be there on X dates and she took care of it. Customer care was outstanding. Really didn't have to gamble that much real cash. You're rated on play.

That was probably 15 yrs ago then all that gradually went away. It's almost all self service now. Stand in long lines to check in or use self service kiosks, poor service on the floor.

Anyways, we got used to that stuff and still had fun! :hyper:

^ Yeah, that.

I've always wanted a '60s PBass in Lake Placid Blue but paying a good chunk of money just to get that color doesn't fly. It would play and sound like what I already have.

I only paid $500 for my '76 PBass with original case in 1988.

I’ve been let down by less than honest amp sellers. Often they play dumb like they haven’t go a clue. Then they install bad tubes, the wrong tubes, forget to mention damage. I kind of expect this sort of thing.

One music store claimed that new Rickenbacker instruments don’t come with a case. Then wanted to sell me the one that it was shipped with.

The B15 I found on eBay was kinda like that. "This one is the talk of the town! Sounds great! Will pack head and tubes separate from the cab". Didn't exactly happen that way. It was in one box. The packing was bubble wrap around the cab and the box looked like pieces of cardboard wrapped around the bubble wrap. I wondered why there weren't two boxes. Apparently too much trouble to do what they said they would do.

Oh, and that "talk of the town" was probably people saying "wow, just listen to all that static and harsh hum coming from that thing! And that's without a bass plugged in!" Didn't really care. I wanted a project and I got it!

Rode for almost 25 years with no serious accidents except for one nasty exhaust pipe burn on my leg when a GL1100 Gold Wing went over on top of me. I rode everything from 400cc Hawks to full dressers and often took long interstate trips... My last MC was a damn good Honda 750cc Nighthawk and then I sold it and switched to scooters, and after 4 or 5 of these I finished up with a 200cc Vespa GT. -Great little scoot; did 75 MPH easily while getting 75 MPG..!
Haven't ridden now for several years; I wisely gave it up when my hearing diminished and my heart got 'bad' and I had to go on blood thinners. Accepting legitimate risk is one thing; stupid pride is another and I figured I'd better get out while I was still in one fairly good piece...
I missed it for several years, but now when I see a guy riding in leathers and a helmet on a scorching hot day I definitely appreciate the comfort of my car...

Stop talking about me! I always wear a leather jacket and boots. No chaps unless it's cold. I ALWAYS wear a helment with a face shield. The jacket is vented and as long as I'm moving it's not too bad. Sitting in traffic ain't no fun though. I do what I can to avoid that. I will say my tolerance for heat/humidity has become less as I've gotten older. Then again a couple of days riding in the 90s to see something like this makes me forget all that.
