Aren't we allowed to burp and fart in public now that we are GOF's?
In public, yes. In front of the wife, I don't think so.....!
Only to the extent of your anonymity. In this small town I'd catch too much h#ll from it getting back to one or more women in my family.
The secret is to let it out slowly. Rather than a loud noise a quieter continuous rumbling!
Takes practice but with time Colonel Bogie is quite recognisable! LOL
Used to could practically "whistle Dixie" but, since the radical prostatectomy, I rarely trust the old solid/liquid/gas detector any more! That's what makes me grumpy.
But, considering the alternative, I'm glad I had it. Thankfully, all other systems are "GO"!

At my age...farting is not a problem....CONTROLLING it is, indeed, a MAJOR problem.....I have been surprised any number of times in the Grocery store, in the library, etc etc...Larry "the cable guy" is absolutely correct about the "walking farts"....but seriously, At my age, I just smile and "move on"
And he's 85!!!!!

Thank you, @BassmanPaul. Yes, my health problems are either in the past or well under control. The prostate cancer is totally gone without chemo or radio, and I march in the annual Cancer Survivor's walk with my now 15-year-old grandson who has no real memory of his leukemia treatment from ages 2 to 5. And I seem to have the mildest case of diabetes on record, but it endears me a little to another grandson, who is Type 1. All 5 kids and the other 2 grandsons and 3 granddaughters have never had more than a cold. So, I'm livin' up retirement and lovin' it, really, and playing bass in church every Sunday. That's why I'm an infrequent GOF'er here, and most other places. I actually have to exaggerate quite a bit to complain!

I know there are others here with quite serious ailments and it pains me to read of it. My prayers go out to all for peace and grace.

Got rid of my prostate a few years ago @G-Dog and don't really miss it. I just get less warning to go pee pee so I stop what I'm doing and go pee when I first notice it.
As for farting, I don't really care who's around, how loud it is or what it smells like, as long as nothing runs down my leg.
