Yes, they all have walking heels, as opposed to riding heels, designed for better connection with stirrups...(y'all didn't know there was a difference?)
I wear hem because I'm most comfortable in them, I've worn this style of footwear almost exclusively since 9th grade - boots in the army as well - and let's face it, except for lace up ropers, no laces to bother with...

I ride horses probably 5 days a week, and I generally don't wear boots. I'm all about comfort these days, and it's easier (much easier) to stand on a horse in flat, smoother rubber sole shoes 
(disclaimer: be sure you have stirrups that you can't get hung up in, and that your foot can't go through... that's something that will ruin your day in a hurry if things get a little western!)
