We have a reasonable selection of cabs but
it's all generally very spendy - from memory in '05 the WT550 was $2100, the
210XST - $1200, the 212XLT $1000. The
Jazz 5 De-Luxes were around $3000 retail
though I got mine on sale AND talked him down another $200 - got that for $2100.
If you want anything other than very average gear you have to hit the City stores. The move to online is well on the way and honestly what's in Suburban stores makes my eyes glaze over.

Side note has plenty of value Will, we wouldn't still be here without the assistance the US gave us. My Da was an instrument fitter on Bostons and Liberators
"up north". They'd never say anything straight out about it, but Da and some old Air Force pals would take turns having "Card Nights" - I was the knee high hanging around the table quietly listening to them sometimes reminise in undertones. Even then they were circumspect in what they'd say, knowing I was listening in.
Food back then was of the good and hearty variety now it's very international with different flavours from all around the World

Eden was the first place I looked but I somehow don't get the same feeling I had before the "takeover". I think I'd rather back an inspired individual than a Corporation these days and have to admit the MVW people seem to have broken the boundaries with a new inspired approach
that somehow feels "right" to me - still thinking but it'll most likely be Mikes efforts or Greenboy that I'll commit to so far.

I still love the WT550 - with those two 4 ohm cabs (around 750 or so watts) I've never hit 12 o'clock on the master -
even open air and still love the tone, it's just the cabs versus my back : )

The B1/8 - 2/8 combo seems a perfect fit for the WT (300 @ 8 ohms, 500 @ 4, 750ish @ 2) - 1/8 for home and small gigs, 2/8 for medium and both for larger should let me push the cabs to their sweet spots, and if I happen to fall into something with regular gigging maybe the move to the Prolite DSP + ? with the goodies to control things more closely.

The Fretless will most likely be a G&L or Trib. L2500.

Struth - I'm nattering like a Granny, sorry fellas : )

I dunno, I think OZ would be a pretty tough group to eradicate. I'm not great at history (although I do read a lot of it), but my understanding is OZ always stood up when counted on and did more than their fare share.

We're pretty easy going (or were) right up to the point when we're not : )

When "it" was over Dad was on a train coming back from the "Far North" and met a "Yank". They exchanged experiences on the way as you would and ended up exchanging their jackets. I think Ma said something like "what do you want that for,
what are you going to do with it"?
Dad used that GI jacket as his fishing coat for 40 years before he gave it up : )

Wild Colonials? Maybe - we are related to the first white baby concieved and born in Oz, 2nd Fleet. My Grandad "opened up"
the Harbord "Freshwater Beach" area on the Northern Beaches of Sydney back when it was virgin bush land early 1900s, and I had a GG Grand-Uncle who was the first to run a Paddle Steamer on the Murry River : )

I like it a lot for some amplification stages (depending on what I am trying to achieve).

...and I thought it was used modulate the power feed for the flux capacitor when a DeLorean's speed reaches 88 MPH...but then again, I'm no agedhorse or Dr. Emmett Brown...:thumbsup: :rollno:

Responding late to the roll call.

I found out wife had cleaned my space.

You guessed right - there was a gem of a female logic hidden in the gig back. I take the Jazz bass out and the strap is off. Not only is it gone, but the straplocks are in place. The look on her face was priceless when I showed her later how the strap comes off, properly, with straplocks.
