It is more for exercise, but every time you handle a horse you are training it (for good and for bad). It's common in the polo world to pony 2 or more horses at a time. Other disciplines would shutter at the thought of ponying, it's that disjointed!There a horse ranch that I pass on weekends, they have a an oval track and riders regularly pony a horse on each side. It doesn’t look like it’s for training, more about exercise. They look happy.
