The Gorge is a pretty happening flyway, all kinds of cool birds come though at one time or another. The resident Barred Owls can be heard quite often, but there are plenty of other flavors around as well.

@beans-on-toast: At our place Scrub Jays fill the niche that crows or ravens often do elsewhere. They are crazy smart, live a long time if they make it through the first year or so, and definitely interact with different humans in different ways.

specific issue: Ampeg SVT400T. Will not properly push a
single 4 OHM load and give 400watts. Incompatible with
an SVT 810 4OHM cab?

Some definitely are, and a lot will just be staying inside for the next couple of days. I'm actually contemplating whether to break out my industrial grade respirator mask to go do the gardening chores.

Yesterday was the first really bad one of the year smoke wise right here, but "luckily" the smoke is so dense that the temps are being held down by around 10 degrees or so. It smells like the inside of a burn barrel, no bueno.

400W into 8Ω load bridge or 200W into two 4Ω loads. It will not supply 400W into a single 4Ω load.

You can run 400W 8 ohms into half (410 section) of a modern 810E.

Hope you get the fresh air soon, but it sounds like it's headed the other way for now (from your later posts).

No symptoms. In talking w Yamaha it's a sad fact. It will only put out
200w @ 4ohms or 400w @ 8 ohms. Into a single 4 ohm load SVT810 expecting 400w: it's a boat anchor. Pawn shop bound. Thanks to all here.

Too bad. Did you try the refrigerator at 200 W? 3db down from 400.

I don't own the 810. A perspective buyer does. I'm selling the 400T.
He's (anyone would be) expecting more than 200 watts into an 810.
200w is a practice amp that wouldn't survive a band rehearsal.

I use a 30 watt tube amp into a 4x10 at one rehearsal all the time - with the drums mic'd . But I like a bit (or more) of toob crunch AND it sets a limit to our rehearsal volume. I still have to wear earplugs.

That was the manufacturer's design choice then, unsuitable for your needs.

Hey fella's, I did something new tonight. This time it didn't involve sex, a new jail, harm to the inferior, or anything bad at all. I didn't know if I could and never heard of it. I drilled a hole in a rock. Supposed to chisel it, but I'm firmly against wasting expensive food calories when there are power tools and electricity. Started out with a chin-tek cheapy bit, drilled OKish, put some weight on it and it folded up like a pretzel. Went to my German and US bits and they cut through like butter. They still seem sharp, but I can sharpen carbide.

If my need is to sell the amp, then yes.
Only have $18, a damp rag, and packet of fuses in it so not a big loss.

I had to go out and do the nightly watering, so now the text. Reverse chronology by design.

The moss layer is packed on to help retain moisture. I actually like the look better without the moss. I might peel that off in a few weeks, remove some of the soil built up around the roots and try to get that smaller. You might not see it in the pics, but the tree is alive and well, with small buds all over. Harvested from my driveway and de-foulaged about a week ago.

Before the moss treatment. I think it looks better and more natural.

The one with the split root is bigger and looks stronger. A solid prospect for a Bonsai next year. So I chickened out and use the smaller. I'm glad I did, because it was tough getting the roots in the hole with the smaller one.

Just like the X-files, one of these must be sacrificed.

The drilling. I felt like a micro-coal miner. Wanted to put a firecracker in the hole. Resisted.

I used a pipe screen over the drain hole to keep the dirt in, and probably will use a syringe to feed and water it, so maybe this is drug related and not a GoodExample
