I wish we would get a short, but proper winter here, at least enough to freeze out bugs & pests and make everything start over/rejuvenate. Maybe have a white Christmas. Then the snow can go away again.
Since I'm on a natural mountain watershed for the valleys below, snow and precipitation are always important up here, even if they can turn our road into a solid sheet of ice for a month.
Last winter temps stayed below freezing two months straight, but there was very little snow.
Fortunately spring and summer we had more than enough rain to compensate, but all the old timers up here have noticed the changes in weather.
It used to be common to see 3-4' of snow up here back in the 70's
