Speaking of whipped toppings, around that time Herb Alpert enjoyed a lot of success with Whipped Cream and Other Delights. Whenever I see that album, I think of House of Pancakes. Herb owned A&M records and made a lot of money.

For in house, I actually prefer canned goods. They are water and food. Meats, veggies, soups. Don't forget the mechanical can opener, Kitchen Aid, or it will bend in half. Water will keep for years with a few drops of bleach in it and tastes better than purification tabs. Is bleach good for you? I dunno but better for you than death by dehydration. Coleman camp stove, white gas because they run on gasoline. Use white gas if you can. Is cooking on gasoline good for you? You know the answer... Rice, even if you hate it, even if it's bleach flavored from the water. If you like fish, fermented fish or fish sauce will make it palatable (I actually read a study about how the Filipino fermented shrimp, bagoong, save millions from malnutrition by providing amino acids to those who can't afford meat). Strike anywhere matches. Dental, medical, hygiene, vitamins, etc. Don't flush the toilets, that's good water in the tank. A way to catch rainwater off the roof for flushing toilets and bathing. Ways to keep warm without power or CO poisoning. Hand tools. Guns and roses without the flowers. FM21-76

Bug out bag is a miniature version of above. Full box of the matches, but the tips need to be dipped in melted paraffin wax or beeswax. Survival knife ($10ish at Harbor Freight for a decent stainless model, paint it flat black). Small stove, 7 day supply of food, water filter, canteen (even a large water bottle) fishing/hunting gear, maybe 1 change of clothes. 3 ft hose to siphon gas. Strong rope/parachute cord and a tarp. You have to be able to carry it, so fairly light and in a good bag. Wear good shoes or boots.
All I can think of now, and you know what? Beer and cooking night. I'll have to catch up later... need to start cooking or I'll cut my fingers off!
