Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

OK, so now I have read all the pages! I'm 60. My wife came in and asked what I was reading about (she is not even close to 60). When I told her about this thread, she said, "You don't need encouragement to be grumpy....And you're not on FB, huh? Hmmph." When you get around to it, can I get a number?

I play through a GK Backline 250 into a Bag End 112. It fills the church behind our small orchestra.

Oh, and "GET OFF THAT PHONE, OR GET OFF THE ROAD!!"

Here's a sob story I think GOF's could understand: I recently found through the internet a drummer and good friend I had lost touch with decades ago. We played and roomed together 43 (!) years ago. Great drummer, great guy. Turns out he now owns a little record label (is that what you call it in the cyber age?) with internet distribution. Called Ghost Track Records. He wants me to finish three songs I wrote and recorded ( sent him a rough mix) in my home studio here in the Philippines where I am retired. Not for money really, but just for fun and reliving the good old days.
Trouble is my age related ailments have been acting up lately and have kept me from finishing the vocals and doing the final mix.

If I knew I was gonna live this long, I woulda' taken better care of myself.
Especially with a wife 25 years younger.

My guys wouldn't let me do anything but play my bass after a had my second stroke. To be truthful I felt a little useless. Don't push yourself too much. It's easy to do without realizing and can put your healing back months.

Stay well my friend!! :D

I hear you my friend, useless is a familiar feeling. I try hard to watch myself, but the weekend away was a bad idea. Time will tell if I screwed up. We were committed to this gig long before the surgery was even a possibility and I just MUST live up to my commitments. It was a very good time so I can remember that if it causes a set back? No gigs for at least 3 weeks now.

You be careful mate!

My mom had a stroke at 81 and it hit her speech and reasoning centers.

Spent the rest of her life unable to speak more than 20 words and didn't know which end of a utensil to use to eat,
or even how to drink from a soda can without a straw. She was a chief surgical flight nurse and nursing educator.

You are still in danger as long as you carry your extra weight and if you don't change your diet and get Dr. approved exercise.

Sorry to hear about your mom. I was very lucky! I only lost some vision. If I looked at a clock, the 9 to 12 quadrant would be a grey blur. It improved over the next several months as my brain box learned to compensate. My second occurred in the same area and again improved with time.

Let's not discuss my pair of heart attacks or I'll just cry!! Sob. :(
