Haven't checked in for a while and it appears things have become more different?

I assume that all military discussions such as military bands, war planes, ships, veterans day ceremonial artilery and flybys are prohibited by the second rule posting.

This puts a bit of a crimp in the style of guys like Al Kraft and other GOF's whose life is defined by all oft he above. Mine is just producing the Military Tribute shows (which involve BOTH horses AND music... )

We've had two nice moderators drop by since they reopened the thread and there was nothing said about military topics. After all, this is the "misc" forum. And both moderators said a bit of music talk wouldn't cause a shutdown. I looked at the rules and didn't find the rules about military related posts.

If I'm wrong please somebody correct me on this....

So, it's ok to post this pic of me playing one of my "other" instruments? I work at a large USPS processing facility and we have a ceremony every Veterans Day and Memorial Day. I'm the bugler for this. That's my dad's US Regulation bugle from when he was in the Army.

That bugle looks like it’s lived some, had a few knocks.

Nice that you get to use it in an official capacity.

Does it have a removable mouthpiece? I’ve seen some that were an integrated part of the horn, others had a chain on the mouthpiece. Not something that you want to misplace at the wrong time.

I’m trying to learn the trumpet enough to be able to sound Taps at veteran’s funerals. I attended one awhile back that used one of the plastic ceremonial bugles that play an electronic version and was offended.

Human/animalmworking relationships are fascinating.
I’ve seen video from India and Malaysia of elephants doing tree work like that.
I’ve also seen an pbs special on working dogs moving sheep and cattle. The guy had different words and whistles for each dog; and said they had a vocabulary of over 600 commands
