I finished my shopping for Dorothy finally. Some I’m not sure of to say the least! I don’t know about youse guys but buying gifts for my wife is a difficult endeavour.
I bought her a set of six rather colourful cotton knickers for every day use. I know they’ll be going back! LOL
I bought her an Amazon Echo Dot with Alexa. Named it 'Echo Dorothy'. When it’s connected I’ll tell it to play ‘O La La’ by the Faces per the advert on TV. She complains that turning on the radio gives her a pain in her heart.
Now she’ll be able to say “Alexa, play KX96” and it’ll play our radio station. I hope she likes it. She is always talking about the units her brothers have. She’ll be keeping up with the Bro’s! 
Has anyone seen the ad from Walmart with the teddy bear. It’s recorded on my PVR. it’s so full of pathos of the toy left behind until he finally gets bought for a little girl and all is bright in the world!
In case I don’t get back here may I wish one and all and their families a safe and happy Christmas. To those who do not celebrate Christmas, all the best wishes in the world!!

Sir Paul, what model is your Jeep? I'm shopping (by accident or in other words because of an accident).

I’ve always bought GM products for some reason. I always figure, the last one served me well so that’s where I look.
Looking at Jeeps, a Durango, Trail Blazer and a Taho. I really like the idea of the Taho, but wife can't drive it and I think it's got 220K miles on the clock.
I want my stinkin' I6! I can tow with it. V6 is probably better for most people. Everything is V6 or V8. V8 is my 2nd pick. The only Jeep GK I found with the I6, a couple years newer was over $7000.
Are the Chevy V8's good for a 1/4 million + miles? Most are around 200,000 miles.

FWIW, I have a GMC Safari(Chevy Astro) 4.3L V6 w/ 288K and a Ford Aerostar 4.0L V6 w/ 333K.
I think the longevity of V6's would be good. I probably won't tow much heavy stuff, so I'll cope if I get a V6.
All my Chevy’s are run to high mileage, over $250K. None were V8’s, I did have an inline six for 25 years. Great basic engines.
You have to watch those big vehicles, they are trucks and parts cost more. These days, the trend is to smaller turbo engines, lighter weight bodies so they are more fuel efficient.
I’d be concerned about using any high mileage engine to tow. With 200k+ there could be loss of compression, brakes need doing, bearings for wheels and steering, air conditioning, radiator, rust affecting body strength, the list goes on. What seems like a good deal can be a money pit.
You can get good deals on used fleet vehicles.
I'm actually leaning towards getting something smaller and rebuilding the Jeep myself, either buy it back or just tell State Farm to kiss my rosy red sphincter if they offer me peanuts and won't budge. My last big tow job was 4500 Lbs + trailer, don't recall the mileage, but I couldn't tell it was back there. Very unlikely I'll be towing over 1000 Lbs in the future. Usually 100's.
The boys have made sure that our 3 are it...and precious forever.
Our daughter-in-law used to talk about wanting lots of kids, then after #2 she agreed that 2 is enough.

Sunday night I placed a $56 Greenlee punch in my Amazon shopping cart, shipped by them. Went back to it today, because it was late and I needed to wait to add some fasteners. Monday, the price for the punch has gone up to $77, it's still in stock. I'll wait and see if the price gets better on boxing day but I'm not holding my breath. You'd think that they would honor the price of an item in a shopping cart.
Maybe sales are low on Sunday so they offer better prices. I've seen other things with flash markdowns. I wish that I understood their reasoning on these things. It puts me off.

Amazon got weird on me over the past month or two. Quite a few things were Prime, go to check out and they get unprime. Price is the same with free slow shipping, weeks out or longer for ETA. I found this when something didn't come in. Went back to item, prime, add to cart, unprimed. Most of this was clothing, once happened with seasonal gift bags.
I've seen similar. Or added shipping that was s'posed to be free. So I go elsewhere-if possible.
