I noticed that last summer, on checkout prime shipping defaulted to pay shipping or slow shipping. I just double check now, but it kinda sucks. I should probably complain. The thing with Prime (assuming you check out as a Prime purchase), you have it in two days, or one day if I pick it up, and returns are free and easy peasy.
IDK if it's a boarderline scam, a bug, or some sellers have found a way to toss a monkey wrench in the works. Maybe they just list it as out of stock and it shifts shipping time to a later date. I've noticed a few things come up as prime, but if you change colors or something like that, they go to unprime :-/

Well well. First big Christmas dinner party in decades coming up tomorrow. It's seafood themed, which I absolutely love. And it's not in my house, always a bonus.
My regular Friday night jam crew celebrated the drummer's birthday party Friday night in a rented performance space across the river that I had never checked out. Sweet to just carry my new bass in and plug into an Ampeg fridge rig, something I never ever get to do. More musicians than civilians, great catered food, and a really cool venue staff. And a keg from the brewery just across the street. On a whim I invited a young local diva and she hung and played pretty much all night. The new bass sounded ridiculous for a first outing, and the venue owner asked me to do some gigs in there with my originals band. Pretty much scared all the kids out with my tunes, LOL. I know enough to wait until the witching hour before I break out the slide bass thing, at least.
So here's the control layout I came up with for the new bass. I'm probably going to get some nice maple knobs for the three EQ positions eventually, just using what I have on hand for now while I sort through potential electronics packages.

Nice bass. Always good when everything in a design comes together.
The center strip grain where the pickups are mounted looks like a nice piece of Salmon. A positive thing in my mind.

Well played. It is actually alder, which is the traditional wood of choice for plank roasted salmon in this part of the country. The body core is cedar, which made machining the control holes a bit of an adventure.
Anyhow, when you tell your luthier that slide bass is Job One for this build, it's a bit tough to predict what he's gonna come up with. He really nailed it with his new sidewinder pickup format. The GHS Pressurewound strings seem up to the task so far too, they are light gauge but pretty tense feeling for being .040-.096.
Mine is a little 2010 Jeep Compass with the larger four cylinder engine. I have no complaints whatsoever with it’s performance.
Here in the Greater Toronto Area GM is a dirty word as they are closing their Oshawa plant. It’s one of the best they have with the lowest recall and warranty ratings.
So, of course they close it. Probably doesn't fit the 'planned obsolescence' schedule.
Companies like Amazon have teams of bean counters that do nothing all day long but calculate razor thin costs ratios. Them, Walmart, Best Buy, etc. What a way to make a living. Everytime I look at my cart I notice a price change. Must matter when you're selling millions of items every week.

I gave in a couple of years ago. Couldn’t be happier, it was a gift all around.
Although 66 most of my hair is salt-pepper mostly brown and I have almost all of it except a little more forehead. I could grow out but somehow it just doesn't seem to fit me anymore. I like the feeling of a well tailored haircut--razor cut with sharp lines. And it makes Carey run her fingers through my hair!
EDIT: If anyone thinks I'm using an old pic for an avatar-- that picture was taken last Spring for the Tribal Council. I'm much more handsome in public LOL

Thanks Will. You've been following along through the whole process, and as you know, it took a lot of back and forth to get my key feature set accommodated.
There are some vids from our Friday jam, but it was crazy crowded on stage and I'm not sure if you could even see the bass. I'll see what I can scare up though. I think the venue owner shot a bunch of stills, and he was way into that bass.
