Hi Grumps,
not to change all the subjects floating around here, but to add one. most of you know my passion for Tutmarc stuff...I just bought an 1936 236 amp. that was owned by Todd Hart of Savoy Brown, etc, for 25 years, he bought in Nashville. here is a pic where he scratched his name in it. extra pic is just for enjoyment.....anyone know much about Todd Hart????

Very nice. The folks in Nashville have all the nice stuff.

Are there any other of these amps remaining out there?

Of all the fake holidays, this one seems to be the worst con. In the US, consumers are expected to spend $21 BILLION dollars this year:

The average man will spend $339 and woman $64 this valentines day on frivolous stuff. This is absolutely nuts unless buying something useful such as a steam valve, sliding mitre saw, or an oscilloscope.

I have my valentine for life...my granddaughter was born 3 years ago today!

Sorry to hear about your audition.

Hey, on that instrument cluster, maybe these guys might be able to help: https://www.instrumentclusters.com/
I'm sending my low-mileage 1997 Honda Accord cluster to them this week to get the speedometer fixed. $165 quoted price.
Stumbo, never quit. I love you and one fan is enough. Sorry, no car advice. Damn combustible engine machines are 100 year old nonsense (even the electronics).

Did a gig tonight and my hand cramping issues returned with a vengeance. I don't know what to do. I don't want to stop playing, but the cramps are so bad I can't play. I took my usual magnesium supplement, drank two bottles of water (which poses it's own issue we won't discuss here), ate dinner with fries (sodium and potassium) as well as a banana. All stuff that's supposed to help. I guess a trip to the doctor is in order. :(

Maybe a physical therapist can give you some helpful exercises to sort of stretch out the hands, wrists and arms before playing. I find that when I have that problem 3 Advil tends to help. Past that that there is an old school muscle relaxant drug called methocarbamol that really helps with muscle cramping that I find very good. A single 500-1000 Mg dose (which is less than the PDR starting dose) can do wonders without any side effects, unlike some of the newer stuff that easily puts one to sleep.

Sorry to hear about the hand cramping.

Yeah, none of those things will help it's arthritis or something like that. My chord hand cramps up sometimes when I play my guitar. I just try to play with less intensity and use open chords. Bummer for us all. :(

Great info, thank you very much. I wasn't sure if an NSAID like advil would help and I may have some of that muscle relaxer already in the house from some back problems a while back.

I take one Potassium Asporotate Supplement each evening for bad leg cramps at night, it works wonders for me. Maybe a more concentrated dose in a cap, compared to a banana? Before I started with the potassium, would use Badger sore muscle rub, stuff is great! But you have to get the cramp first and then put it on! I would get a freaking painful cramp in my thigh, rub this stuff on and boom, the muscle relaxes!! Hope this helps. Good luck!

Massage to relax and the right exercise can make a big difference. Fluid balance is important.

An occupational therapist that deals with musicians can help correct playing related issues if they are bringing on this problem.
