Get off my lawn!

Of all the fake holidays, this one seems to be the worst con. In the US, consumers are expected to spend $21 BILLION dollars this year:

Hey Jeff, if you have any better ideas for what I'm doing by all means let me know. I pretty much just went with something similar to how Alembic does it, and have taken pains to make sure it's non-standard to the point where no one will ever try to plug a DMX cable or whatever into it and create more havoc than my playing already does.

2 barrels of #8 shot from a 12 ga. at 25 feet usually does the job nest, hornets, and all--if you're sure of your aim--and the gun makes a great bogus holiday gift, too --usually after 3 or 4 offerings she'll either go away or stop expecting jewelry...of course if you are involved with a woman who shoots-----you'll have to be polite all the time.....

Someone-Bob Ballard?-found USS Yorktown(CV-5)awhile back. I spent 6 months on her namesake(CV-10)in '66. Then 34 years after leaving her, was able to take my family aboard as she is now a museum in Charleston, SC. Pretty cool, actually. 'Course that and the fact my second carrier, USS Enterprise(CVA[N]-65)was de-commissioned in Feb.,2017, makes me feel at least as old as I really am.(sigh)

Requirements for this particular build:

Locking.

Right angle and straight cable ends both available.

Must fit 6mm/1/4" OD cabling and accommodate 22AWG wire.

But that's just this build, and I think I already have it covered well enough to proceed now. Being able to revert to a standard phone plug format easily was pretty important as well.

The supply needs to be 17 V/0/17 V AC off a transformer, into a 3-pin connector that is not standardized in any way.

I got a Mini-XLR to replace the existing connector, and a 15 V/0/15 V transformer. The transformers are usually rated for load, so I hope this sturdy piece will be able to deliver the 17 V on both sides to fire up the phantom power for the mics.

That's gotta suck. I bought a "B" passive mixer that came with a power supply that had a weird(to me)little connector, the likes of which I'd never seen. The first one was defective; sent it back and received another. This thing is super sensitive to the slightest jiggle. I have to make sure it's on a stable table. Shoulda gone for a better(read:$$)unit.

Answer: not me.

not to change all the subjects floating around here, but to add one. most of you know my passion for Tutmarc stuff...I just bought an 1936 236 amp. that was owned by Todd Hart of Savoy Brown, etc, for 25 years, he bought in Nashville. here is a pic where he scratched his name in it. extra pic is just for enjoyment.....anyone know much about Todd Hart????

Yes.

I don't use the paste with the solder beads in it like you would use with an oven. I prefer to use regular solder: Multicore / Loctite DLMP22 250G REEL Sn/Pb/Ag alloy, 62/36/2 , carefully with extra flux paste.

Have to wear an optivisor to see anything.
