Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

That's a gorgeous instrument Charlie and I'm sure your new system will further enhance its charm! Please keep us updated on how the project turns out.

Will do, of course. The bass is pretty sweet looking, by my standards at least, but it already sounds and feels better than any other fretless bass guitar I've ever played, and there have been many. I have a few different preamps mounted in stomp boxes, so I know that I'm on the right track already. It ain't broken, so let's fix it anyway!

Anyone ever buy anything on ebay from China?

I ordered some electronics, each of the two packages came to under $10 delivered with free shipping. Both shipped the same day that I ordered.

Now I’m wondering if the packages will ever actually arrive. In the shipped notice, the delivery times are estimated as up to two months.
Shipping, in this case, means actual ships. Two months is about right.

The motto of all great innovators and inventors IME...well, and a few folks who should have known better, but we all know you're in the first category Charlie! I'm looking forward to hearing how another cool experiment turns out.

I have ordered things like tuner buttons and small tools that came from China. The tracking is pretty spotty and it does seem to take forever unless you sign up for expedited shipping. Ever heard of taking a slow boat to China? It's just as slow coming back.......besides that........I'm on the west coast USA and two of my shipments took the long route over the old silk road to Europe to New York and then a 16 cities in 30 days tour of the US.........but everything I ordered did get here eventually.

Thanks for the feedback. As long as it arrives, I can live with a long delivery. I’d be more worried these were expensive items.

Shipping can be nuts depending on the country of origin. I order audio transformers from England and have them overnighted via FedEx. From Germany they insist on using DHL and charge more. Delivery takes three weeks and it’s put in the mail.

This looks like fun. Harassing hornets.

Way better using a drone than poking the nest with a stick.

There was a story in a paper last spring. They were tearing down an old abandoned farmhouse on a property that I drive by. Seems that bees got into the walls many years ago and the house was filled top to bottom with hives. The demolition was halted, experts were brought in. They relocated the bees and harvested the honey. I think that this was a good thing. Bee populations have been ravaged in recent years. Farmers and producers are quite concerned.

I imagine that the bees must have been grumpy.
