Whippersnappers....

Yesterday my neighbor's step-son, age 23 comes over.
He fell (probably drunk) straight into an outdoor burn barrel.
2nd and 3rd degree burns all over his abdomen, on his hands and down one leg,
where one wound in charred black.

In my 61+ years on this planet, I've never met someone so lost, so un-together.
He has a new infant son and his first now nearly 3. He can't hold down a job
and bounces back and forth between his step father's place and his unmarried SO's mom's place. I mean a total trainwreck of humanity.

He was ambulatory, so I gave him $10.00 so he could afford gas to the ER.

I've been trying to help him get his act together, but gee wiz.

Weather was wind chills down to -24 C, -12 F this morning and 8-12" of new snow predicted tomorrow.
I'm glad I'm not forced to be out there loading in and out with a band in these temps.

Take Hot Hands, extra warm blankets and be prepared just in case you break down.
It's bone chilling cold out.

West of here, wind chills got down to -30 F this morning.

I'm going back to my trusty heating pad!

Flannel PJ bottoms under loose jeans works.
2 pairs of socks. Avoid shoes with steel shanks or steel toe.
Lots of loose layers, so the air pockets help insulate.
I would still pick up a pack of Hot Hands and maybe a thermos with hot beverage.
Over ear hat and a hoodie to protect your ears. Scarf to cover face.
Good gloves.

Good luck keeping guitars in tune.

Just spent some time on the "Jeff Berlin Banned" thread. That thing went to 100mph like a lightning bolt. After 5 minutes I did that thing like when my wife talks a lot...my eyes rolled back in my head. Those guys are way too serious for me.

It's good to be in with the GOF brethren. We got guys handing out dressing advise like a mother and B-string offering steak sandwiches. No more worrying about stuffing an 810 into a Ford Escort or if we'll attain our aspirations as musicians. We know where we stand, and sometimes just enjoy the babies or sitting out back looking at the trees. Ah...the simple life. Thanks!!
