Still have a copy!!! through the 80s I took my gig money. Bought and restored old dubs. Sold them to get more gear. my main was a 56 ragtop combi with a 1200 single port. Upgraded to dual dellortos. hauled the entire bands gear around in that for 10 years. Damn thing did not come with a gas gauge or seat belts.

My favorite was a 55 split type 1 with a turbo Carrera running gear :) did all my own wrenching.
As a matter of fact, one day when my generator died in the bus on the way to work at G&L, I was pulling it apart after work to replace the bushings, When Leo came out and chatted with me about how much he loved these old busses. Asked if I'd give him a ride home on occasion so Phyllis could have time to herself. Ahhh good times.

Today I am exceedingly grumpy!!! My driving license has been suspended 'cos my Neurologist informed the Ministry of Transport about my periods of forgetfulness!! I have to undergo a functional assessment. Such questions as: can he keep himself clean? Can he take his medications unaided? Does he have an odour about him? There's a bunch more in a similar vein. I have never been so insulted in my life!! Needless to say I am firing that doctor!!

The other night the wife and I were watching a movie. Our 20 year old cat was soundly asleep between us. All of a sudden, she (the cat) gets up, jumps down from the couch and just sits there for several moments. I started laughing out loud as I told my wife, she forgot why she jumped down. It happens to all of us....

Some time ago I watched a special on memory and ageing. The final conclusion was, "if you forgot where your car keys are, it's not that big of a deal. If you forget what your car keys are for, you might have a problem". I agree, a new doctor is in order.

We have a running family joke if I really lose it.
I'm not letting a for-profit senior care system take everything I've worked for.

Roll me up to Tiffanys with a toy gun.
I attempt a failed armed robbery
They lock me up mandatory, so I've got room, board, clothing, free medical care and I'd be too old for anyone to bother me.
Really no different from placing me in a human dog pound, aka nursing home.

O K so ole Sharky finally lost it and his kids stuck him in a nursing home. That's when the real trouble began. A couple of days in and they got the first call. Your father has been taking his cane and lifting up the nurses dresses. Could you please have a talk with him?
A week later the second call comes in. Your father has been starting wheelchair races in the hallways. Could you please talk to him?
About a week after that the third call comes in. Your father and another patient were found nude in the mop closet. Please please have a talk with him.
Three weeks go by and no problems. Amazing.
Then the final call comes in. Your father pulled a fire alarm and the building had to be evacuated. He went out in just an open back hospital gown. While he was outside , he stole one of the motorcycle cops bike that had answered the call. He was last seen flying out the driveway on the motorcycle with the hospital gown flapping in the breeze. If you find him , please don't bring him back.
My children live in dire fear of having to institutionalize me.

If this is any help: A few years before I retired I was diagnosed with a mild form of epilepsy (yeah, holy moley). I was working in a power plant in a tech job and driving an hour plus back and forth to work. I explained this to the neurologist who reasoned that, since I had been having theses small seizures for a few years ( I thought I was having flashbacks, seriously LOL) without consequence, he would not report me to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles as required by law. A lot of doctors understand the reality of living in the real world.
