Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Happy Soulful Sunday...

We do "Time is Tight" and "Green Onions" in our band. One of the 2 guitarists has an EHX B9 organ simulator. It does a credible job of replacing the Hammond-and is a helluva lot lighter. He also uses it on "Whiter Shade of Pale". Nice effect w/o the grunt.

Prunes and prune juice, no. I have problems that would only exacerbate. Advil, yes, and lots of it as well. Also turmeric for swelling in my hands sometimes. Getting old sucks but I feel good that I'm still able to get out there and play. A friend and guitarist in one of the bands I sometimes play with has been taken down by some sort of nerve pain in his fretting hand. He can't play now, at all. Probably needs surgery and that may or may not bring him back into playing condition. I don't know what I'd do if that happened to me.
A guitarist I used to be in a band with developed Guillain-Barre syndrome. Couldn't even hold his guitar-or bass. He played bass in a big band and I took over for him until he could get back to playing. Almost a year! He still can't stand for a gig. He sometimes plays with our group when one of our guitarists takes a vacation.

Man!
I’d bet the farm that if you came out the door sporting one of THESE...

Yeah now there you go, who in 1970 would take a look at what we have available today and saw, naw think I'll stick with hauling the mass of a dwarf planet because reasons

And in some club all whut seems not very long ago was the only person in the place listening to the drum player warm up on his digital kit. His only question, quickly answered, is just what kind of bass player is paying attention to what he's doing. The kit? Says, tired of hauling the old stuff around.

Good song!

Mavis is a tiny woman, at five feet (or less with age), but what a rich powerful voice. Look how far back she is from that Neumann mic.

My Bride & I saw her do a set at the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Center in Atlanta!
She bared her soul through song, and told some stunning, and shocking, and Funny stories along the way.
Her li’l 3 piece band was Smmmokin’!

They look real good. Proper fries, none of those mashed paste made ones.

I was just thinking about onion rings.

We're fortunate here in little Sitka, Alaska. We have a small Mexican community and they're owners of three Mexican restaurants in town. They also make burgers, pizzas and sandwiches. The fries are hand cut and fresh, as are the onion rings. Eating grocery store onion rings is such a joke. :rollno:
