I refuse to buy anything from Sears nowadays. Through an oversight I had a $400 credit on my Sears card. I discovered that they charge customers a fee for carrying a credit balance. By the time I realized it was down to $192!! No more Sears for me!

The bank did something similar. They asked me to open a savings account for transferring funds in conjunction with retirement plan transactions. They proceeded to debit a monthly fee. They couldn't understand why I wanted to close the account before they had a chance to take it all.

Saving used to be encouraged.
They also used to have this thing called "interest". What happened to that?!
Their interest is taking your money, service charge after service charge. Who says nobody offers service any more.
I used to know some (really) old folk who would bury gold/silver coin in Mason jars.They still have the "interest" in keeping all your money, they just don't give it back
Maybe they were on to something.
Mine makes almost as much as me now...
My wife is always shows great "interest" in my paychecks!
...which isn't saying much. It's not like she got a raise or anything...
I asked for a raise and they gave me a ladder! They said that includes STEP INCREASES!!!!
