Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Since the batteries just went dead on my remote I'm grumpy, I don't want to go to the store and can't find any here.
So reminiscing on grump states just reminded me of this story. Two relationships ago we bought a house at the beach we couldn't really afford. So we lived in the inlaw unit downstairs for the first 4-5yrs and rented out the 3 BRms upstairs. We went through some real winners but after getting rid of the wife abuser who never raised his voice so all we heard was his wife ......ugh makes me sick to remember, we got some college kids. They loved to surf and soon all their friends started to show up to shower afterwards. That was ok but soon the partying got a little crazy and all their other friends showed up Cause we were such tolerant and "cool" landlords. At this time the downstairs had only a Wood stove for heat so when the party really heated up I would simply pull my chopping stump out of the garage and get the double bladed ax out and start chopping wood. As the kids ran up and down the front stairs I would do my best Jack Nicholson (honey I'm home! ) impression and make a few manic faces at people, that would quiet the party right down as they started to remember the Zombie/horror flicks they watched and would filter off to someone else's house. Me laughing my ass off and back to my chair on the back porch for a fatty.
Funny that after the surfpunknazis we got a very quiet well behaved pair of respectful young men who lived there for a year or two. After they moved out a younger musician I knew on the coast said to me you know those guys that used to live at your place?, they were some of the biggest Coke dealers in town.!! Haha jokes on me, I'm glad we were never raided!

Ah livin' down there In Az.! I remember the drive through Liquor store in, I believe it was Paradise Valley north of Phoenix. When we were on the road in the seventies we lived there for a year. We had been playing the Roadway Inn by Shaw Butte for months and the manager of the Playboy club used to come in. He hired us to play in the lounge and we worked there for six months or more. Les McCann used play there a lot and he would come in and ask to sit in cause our keyboard guy had a B-3 and Les loved to play the B. Good times. So back to the drive through....every night on the way in to the Playboy Club the keyboard player would go to the drive through Liquor store and buy a pint of Southern Comfort. (Yea those were the days) anyway time went on and at the end of our stint there we had to leave for a gig in (shiver....literally) Twin Cities (Minniapolis) so keyboard Joe goes to move his Leslie and an avalanche of bottles crashes down from behind his Leslie where he had been throwing them for months. The entire day staff broke out in gales of laughter as he turned three shades of red. Those were the days. Anyway NO we don't have drive through 7 elevens here in Oregon damn it.

Okay, as a 61 year old who's been playing for 48 years, I realize that most of you are young whippersnappers ...

So I forgot where I was going with that! Just gimme a number! Or not ...!

BTW, as I'm writing this post, I'm hanging from the most important piece of equipment I've ever owned. Ask me about my inversion table!
