Get off my LAWN! "Grumpy Old Farts"

Just checking in. Spent a day in a thread analyzing (analizing?) 9v batteries in actives and had to get out before I took my own life. Hope everyone is well and still with us. Remember what my elderly mother and her Bible study friends say: "Don't fall. If you fall, you're done for".

A bit out of place but: hap, hap, happy day!! :D I'm allowed to drive again. YEA!!! :)

OK that's enough of that 'cos i just took my newish little Jeep in for service after it had sat in my driveway for the three months this ordeal has taken. Brakes have rusted out and need to be replaced. They're doing some other stuff under the warranty but I'm going to have to fork out $750+ to make it right!!!! :rollno: All because of one doctor's paranoia over being sued!!

I'm three years away from SS. And, about two seconds away from walking out the door of this day job where I have to put up with punks, fresh out of college, telling me how to do what I've been doing for 23 years. Rats! I had thought I could avoid this group for a while longer. It's time, I guess. Number please.

I had to visit the "Senior Center" this week and I go back this coming Wednesday, WTH, when did this happen?

Um Paul, brakes don't "Rust out" from sitting unused. Any rust on rotors or drum friction surfaces will be removed with normal driving. Your vehicle is not at a shop, they are playing proctologist with you. Are there any consumer protection agencies in Canada?

Jon, Ive been dealing with these folks for more than twenty-five years. they have looked after me and mine well and gone out of their way to help us when needed. I trust them implicitly. I can feel the difference between before and after when driving the car.

Thanks muchly for your concern my friend!! :D

Send the bill to the doctor who made you stop driving. ;) Maybe that'll change his tune.

Glad you're back on the road Paul. Now go buy a hot rod and do burn outs all night in front of that stupid doctors house.:)
Can't find a grump anywhere today. I just started vacation and me and seahag are headed to Ocean City Md. on Monday for the rest of the week. Oysters , Bloody Marys , Eggs Benedict for breakfast and sand in my toes should be quite therapeutic. Gonna take the 12 string to make some extra drinking money on the boardwalk. This will be the 4th year in a row we have done this and it gets better each year. YeeeeeHaaaaaa.

The local Ford and Chevrolet dealers here in town used to be trustworthy places also, no longer. Things change over the years, use caution my friend.

I've been going to the same family run place for years. A new generation took over a year ago. Last fall I went in to have my snow tires installed. I normally get the oil changed at the same time but this this time I didn't need to. The idiots drained my oil by mistake and didn't add any oil. My oil light went on as I was driving home. Not good.

In the spring I went back to get my summer tires installed since they had them in storage. I saw my car being returned to the front parking lot and heard a crack. I ran out but the driver had taken off. The next day, I found a small dent in my bumper. I know that it wasn't there when I took it in. It wasn't worth my time to go after them.

Top notch service. Really inspires confidence.

I hope you have a great time but it's Bloody Caesars for me. :)

Speaking of car maintenance, how about a complete radiator flush? Instead of my usual choice of beverage this past Sunday evening I got to drink this. You grumpy old guys know exactly what was happening to me on Monday morning. Yes, the folks at the surgery clinic were gentle. But thanks for your concern. :)
