Had a seagull steal my hotdog off my cart on a Golf course as I walked over to hit my tee shot. It was about 250 yds out from #10 tee. Cart path only. Come to find out that they hung out there because just about every golfer bought food at the halfway house....

Yeah, I learned many years ago while vacationing at the beach in Tampa.... you don't throw a chicken bone into the air. The gulls swarmed on us like a scene out of a Hitchcock movie.

Went to see Santana and the Doobies Saturday. Thirty thousand people. Half of them 60+ year olds wearing either black Doobie tee shirts or Harley shirts. Doo rags were part of the dress code. Both bands were tight, well rehearsed. The whole event was produced and executed to perfection. The sound system bout ripped my head off. We were seated center 47 rows back.

From here out i will stick to venues where cocktail servers come to your table. Little too old for that size crowd.

I would have dug it one way or another. Saw the Doobies last summer with Steely Dan. That was even too loud for the already hearing impaired. Heven't seen Santana live since the Marathon tour. That was a looonnng time ago. David Margen was tearin' it up.

An old college friend and I were eating on the waterfront at Ivar's fish bar, sitting outside. The seagulls were performing for the tourists. This isn't my footage, but it's what it was like the day we ate at Ivar's. Same thing happens in Sitka when fishermen throw out guts from fish..

The show was probably around 94 and what I recall is seeing only those four on stage. Many bits were updated to more topical references, like the "one shining steel rail! Rockefeller Rockefeller Rockefeller" from How Can You Be in Two Places at Once .... Well worth the price of admission. Recall we all had a dinner at some Turkish restaurant with raki to chase the meal. So we were primed for comedy by the time we got there.

What is amazing to me is just how prescient Everything You Know is Wrong turned out to be .... LOL

Favorite FST bit: "How'd you get in here? You don't have a key" "No, half a key-I had to split it with the soundman"

I’ve had seagulls land on the hood of our car while we’re eating, look into the windshield and scream hand it over. They like greasy food. The windshield wipers and horn don’t work.

I try to get them off before they drop a load. They can be very aggressive.

IDK that I've ever eaten turnips. Turnip greens? Mmmmm.

Turnip is sometimes used to make moonshine.

Beet greens are good as well, like spinach. I use them in soup.

I’m not sure who would win Mary Poppins or The Stork. Mary Poppins is a tough bird that’s well adept with her umbrella.

Lots of cougar sightings near me recently. May have been one just outside our fence a few weeks ago, even. I wasn't in a huge hurry to figure out exactly what flavor of large wild critter it was in any case. Zillions of baby everythings around here right now, plenty of food resource.

A couple of days ago my wife and I saw five ospreys play fighting and just generally being goofy in the very strong winds by the Columbia. We think most if not all were first year birds, so non-breeding. Neither one of us had ever seen this behavior, and it went on for quite a while right over and around us. And we now have baby Scrub Jays hanging in our yard, and pretty frazzled looking parents to go with that.

Texas has a few threats here & there, too. This is my newly widowed brother-in-law's newly orphaned step-son (his bio-dad died 6 months ago) diverting his grief last week. Major protocol faux pas when he didn't even tell anyone, "Here, hold my beer." Kids, don't try this at home.
